Scarlett's POV
Mystery, Azrael, and I are roommates. We've been roommates for about a century. When Azrael introduced me to Mystery, we quickly became best friends. A few months after that, my house burned down, so Mystery invited me to stay with her and Azrael.
Azrael can be a bit of a pervert and a bit of an annoyance. He's supposed to be the Archangel of Death. His older brother, Allen who is the Archangel of War, thinks he's lazy and immature. Azrael is the youngest and dumbest out of six children.
Then there's Mystery. She's an Archdemon, one of the last five. She appears to be logical and secretive. When she isn't reading or baking, she's doing mysterious experiments in her lab. Some nights I can hear her quietly sobbing after coming back up from her lab. I don't really know much about her past, but she's my best friend. The only family I really know she had was a son.
Me? I'm Scarlett Luminaire. I'm the thing that stalks the lone walker at midnight. I'm the thing that goes bump in the night, the thing you should fear. I'm a blood sucking demon known as a vampire. I didn't used to be like this. I used to be a vampire hunter. I assume you can infer what happened from there. I'm not like a normal vampire, though. I can walk in the daylight and I can speak the name of God. Crosses have little to no effect on me and garlic is quite nice. Of course, I would die if you were to put a stake through my heart. Who wouldn't that kill?Mystery's POV
Mystery stared in a shocked surprise at the man in front of her. He was massive, almost four feet taller than her. Currently, the two were standing in the midst of the enemy territory, Mystery holding a great sword tightly in her hands. The large man in front of her stared down with a look of shocked relief etched on his face. The woman stared up at the piercing ice blue eyes she was so familiar with. The last time she'd seen those eyes their owner had been yelling for her to run. No matter how much she'd cried for the man she loved to find her again, he hadn't. To her, he was gone like dust in the wind. To him, she was Gone With The Wind.
