It wasn't even Todoroki's idea.
It was his.
Sero had been the one to drag the anti-social doofus out of his stupid ass house and to Mina's party.
Sero had been the one who was supposed to take care of Todoroki, make sure he didn't get into anything he couldn't handle.
Just because Sero could down a few drinks and an edible or two every weekend didn't mean Todoroki could.
The boy nearly hurled when he got the first whiff of second-hand smoke for fucks sake!
Todoroki had handled everything better than Sero expected though, and he wasn't dumb enough to make the mistake of going onto the dance floor with Denki and Mina who would no doubt be puking in the toilet bowl after they were done shaking their asses.
That was all fine and dandy, Sero didn't have a problem with that, if he wasn't so fucking pissed he probably would've joined them.
"Is this really a good idea, Hanta?"
He pushed another person out of the way, making sure to keep one hand on Todoroki's shoulder so he didn't lose sight of him.
"Of course dude! You gotta get out of the house anyways, that shit ain't good for your health."
Todoroki raised an eyebrow as Sero took a large drink out of the disposable red cup he'd been carrying before setting it down on a random table.
"I could name another thing that's not good for your health," he grumbled.
"Huh? What'd you say?" Sero leaned in, trying to hear him better over the pulsating music that had made their veins sink in time to the beat.
It felt like the ground was throbbing under his feet, and every time the music dipped the crowd moved with it like a sea of fish trying not to stray far from the school.
"Nothing."
"C'mon bro, you haven't been to one of Mina's parties before anyways!"
Sero was sure that by the end of the night, Todoroki would've relaxed enough to have a little fun.
Maybe he'd even laugh.
Now that would be a sight worth seeing. But for now, Sero was stuck with the lovely and permanent line that formed Todoroki's lips and made him look like an uncomfortable child.
"I was very content in your room with my book before you insisted that we attend," Todoroki said indignantly, minding the way Sero pulled him to the side as a random person ran past the two of them, a hand clutched to their mouth.
"Everyone here seems... contaminated."
Sero smiled, letting his arm fall more casually over Todoroki's shoulders and nodding every time he saw someone recognizable. It was surprising that he could even make out people under the multi-colored lights changing with the music Mina saved every time she threw a banger like this.
It'd been a while, that's for sure, and when she'd texted him Todoroki just happened to be there. Convenient was an understatement.
"It's a party! What'd you expect? A bottle of white chilling in ice with a party popper?"
Todoroki pursed his lips, scrunching his nose in the way Sero thought was absolutely adorable.
"I only drink red."
The boy had been such a hassle to just get out of the damn house. Groaning and whining about going into a setting with actual people when it was nice and quiet in Sero's room.
