They live on their own, and once they reach a certain age they must live on their own. They have magic, but only use it under extreme circumstances, or when requested by a spiritspeaker.
This is because their magic kills them, and large acts of magic can kill them. Their magic draws from their life force, so its not something they use for small things.
They are more willing to help the more spiritual non-humans, as opposed to the less spiritual.
