IMAGINE YENNEFER ADOPTING YOU, A BABY SHE FINDS ABANDONED AND YEARS LATER SHE TELLS YOU ABOUT YOUR ORIGINS.

Yennefer had found you alone and abandoned, being in a basket at the market. She had tried to find your parents, assuming they were looking for you, but nobody showed up, and she was told that a woman had been seen leaving that basket and hurrying away, not letting anyone see her face. Nobody knew the basket had a baby, you had started crying only after Yennefer walked by.

That told Yennefer everything she needed to know, and it was like her prayers were answered. She had wanted to have a child of her own for so long, and now she was blessed with you. She took you in as her own, and vowed to raise you the best she could. She gave you a name, and saw you grow, learning to smile and laugh, crawling, taking your first steps, starting to talk - and she felt proud.

Motherhood was harder than she thought, but it was also so much more rewarding than she thought. Seeing you learning new things, learning to eat by yourself, using a potty by yourself, hearing you say "mama" for the first time, it all was so much more rewarding than she had thought.

Years later, you had grown so much. You had learned to talk properly, walk, run, and even sew your dolls back together if they got a hole in them. You had also long hair much like Yennefer's, and your mother-child time often had Yennefer taking her time in brushing your hair and talking about things you had done during the day, answering your questions and tell about her day in return.

But this particular day you had a question Yennefer knew she would have to answer one day, she just didn't want to confuse your young head with it. You had played with other children in the village you lived in, and one of them had told you that Yennefer was a mage, and mages can't have children. They said that Yennefer isn't your mother.

So you asked about it, and Yennefer froze for a second, before she laid her brush aside and made you stand up and look at her.

"Y/N... you are my child. Don't listen to those kids. Just because you didn't grow inside of me, doesn't make you any less of my child. I took you in and raised you. I have loved you. If you think I'm your mother, then I am your mother." she told you and looked deep into your eyes, for a second fearing you'd get upset, but instead you threw your arms around her neck, and Yennefer gladly hugged you back, running her hand through your hair as you tightened your grip.

"I love you mama." you muttered, and Yennefer smiled.

"I love you too, Y/N."
