Scarlet hung up the call before I could finish. "Oh wow," she chuckled. "She's really not all that bright, is she?"
"Why are you doing this?" I snapped.
"You lot are the reason I lost everything."
"I'm not being funny, but you ruined her life first; you literally killed her brother. Oh, then you stabbed her and expected her not to do or say anything?"
"Well, that was our deal..."
"Your what?"
"Our deal: she promised not to say anything and then she ratted me out and I ended up in jail."
"Oh yeah, jail. How the hell did you get out?"
"You could say I have some friends."
"Psh. Yeah, right." I scoffed.
"That's mean."
"You're in no place to call someone mean."
"Jeez, why is everyone so mad today?"
"You're kidding, right? Please tell me you're kidding."
"I can't tell if I love or hate you."
"I'm glad to say that I don't have that problem; I definitely hate you."
"Thanks."
"You're very welcome."
"How far away did she go?"
"You don't already know? I thought you'd be watching her." I didn't want to directly answer her questions, especially because behind my back I was slowly undoing the knot that kept my hands together.
"Answer my question."
"What if I don't want to?"
"Then you'll face the consequences."
"What kind of .consequences' are we talking about?"
"Torture, maybe death."
"You wouldn't dare." I faked a gasp.
"So you've still got the same attitude as you did a few years back, huh?"
"I wouldn't say I have an attitude, I just don't let people walk all over me." I smirked as Scarlet squinted her eyes at me in frustration. Just then, the door flew open.

No.
