"What's gone on with you? You got a boyfriend? Or girlfriend?" Aiden asked.
"No, I'm very single. I was seeing this guy called Dante, but we broke up forever ago. It's okay, though. I'm totally over him. Other than that, things haven't been very exciting." When I finished speaking, Aiden was looking at me silently in a way I'd never seen him look at anyone before. There was a sort of sparkle in his eyes and he looked utterly beautiful. Unexpectedly, he took my head in his hands and pulled me close to him before kissing me. The moments where his lips were on mine were the exact moments I had been craving since the instance in Tilly's. He pulled away looking scared. "I'm sorry I don't know what that was I-" he stammered. He was cute when he was flustered.
"Shut up." I smiled at him briefly before grabbing his collar and kissing him again. Can't we just stay like this forever? Our electric moment was ruined by the slamming of a door. "I KNEW IT!" Avery exclaimed with excitement. "I literally could've told you this would happen from the second you guys met each other."
"Avery, did you go outside just so we would be alone together?" I asked.
"Yes, but the smell was also giving me a headache," her smile continued to beam across her face as she spoke. "I'm so happy for you guys."
"These past few minutes have been great, but can we please do something about the dead bodies?" I said.
"Yeah, but what are we going to do with them?"
"I know." Avery said immediately.
"Go on..."
"There's a place not too far from here where we could bury her."
"Is that not risky, though? With you two being famous and everything?"
"I think I know exactly how to make sure that's not a problem." Aiden's tone was mysterious.

"No. I'm not doing that." Avery said.
"Why? It's just hair dye." Aiden insisted.
"Avery, this is kind of important."
"I'm not ruining my hair."
"Then don't come!" Aiden shot at her.
"Fine! I'll stay here."
"No, Avery, I'd rather none of us be alone. I can't lose you as well."
"I'll be okay. I'll call you if I need anything. I promise."
"Are you sure?" I wasn't comfortable with this. One of us being alone makes us a huge target.
"I'm sure. Aiden, let's dye your hair."

"Well this is weird," Avery cocked her head slightly. "We don't look anything alike anymore."
"Isn't that what we were going for?" Aiden said as he stared at himself in the mirror.
"This is perfect. You look great."
"Thanks, but can you guys leave for a second? I need to-"
"Yeah okay." Avery said before he'd even finished.
"Are you guys using twin telepathy or something?" I asked as she closed the door behind us.
"No," she chuckled. "But I told you."
"Told me what?"
"Not to lose hope for Aiden."
"I thought you were just being nice and consoling me."
"Rule #1: Avery is always right."
"Thank you."
"What for?"
"For everything." I hugged her tightly, hoping it would show how much I love her.
"You're like my second brother. Hey, who knows: one day you might be."
"Stop, we're not even officially dating yet."
"I'm planning the wedding! As long as I'm the maid of honour."
"Of course."
"Did you just admit that you think you two are going to get married?" she smirked.
"No- oh, you sly little thing."
"Not sly, just clever... and correct." she smirked.
"I'm ready to go." Aiden peeked his head through the door, startling me.
"Let's go."
"Stay safe, boys."
"We will, and you." I smiled.
"Remember: the forest a mile from my place."
"We know."
"See you in an hour?"
"See you in an hour."

"You alright?" Aiden asked me, keeping his eyes on the road ahead.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Your leg is doing the bouncy thing."
"Just nervous, that's all."
"Everything's going to be okay." he reassured me, placing a hand on my thigh.
"What if this is the wrong choice? It was self-defence, and technically I can't get locked up for that. Both of us, maybe even Avery too, are at risk by doing this."
"Look, this is the safest thing for us to do. No one's going to be looking for her, you said it yourself."
"I know, but-"
"No more 'but's please." With that, we sat in silence for a few minutes.
"Aiden," I said quietly. "We need to talk."
"About what?"
"You know exactly what."
"Look, I-"
"What are we?"
"I don't know."
"So we're just friends?"
"Okay, I know how to solve this problem. Axel, do you want to be my boyfriend?" I was stunned at his words. In fact, I was so taken aback that I almost forgot how to speak. "Well?" he urged.
"Yes." I watched carefully as a smile crept across his face. "What took you so long to finally kiss me back?" I asked.
"I have no idea. You know, I've had all of these girlfriends but something always felt off. I guess this is why."
"You do realise that this is something I've wanted since I met you, right?"
"I mean, why wouldn't you? Have you seen me?" There was a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
"Oh shut up." I giggled, playfully slapping his arm.
"I think we're here."
"Alright, let's do this."

"It just occurred to me that we're burying a body in the middle of a forest." I said.
"We are."
"I feel like someone's watching us, Aiden."
"You're just paranoid."
"We're going to die."
"We're not going to die! Can you stop being so negative?"
"Oh, okay. Sorry," I cleared my throat. "We're going to die! Woohoo!" I said, throwing my hands in the air and smiling sarcastically. Aiden looked at me with a blank expression. "What? Is that not what you wanted me to do?"
"Not really." We finished replacing all of the soil when Aiden's phone started to ring. "Who is it?" I asked.
"Avery..."
"Is she okay?"
"I hope so." He answered the call but there was only a low, muffled noise. "Ave?" he said.
"Is everything okay?" I added. The call ended and we looked at each other in alarm. "I think we need to go."
"We definitely need to go." Aiden was already almost in the car.

"Aiden, now your leg is doing the 'bouncy thing', or whatever you call it." As soon as I pointed it out, he forced himself to stop.
"I'm worried about her."
"I'm sure there's nothing wrong and it was an accidental call, but in the worst case, she's a strong girl. She could handle any situation."
"No, Axel. She's my little sister."
"Aren't you guys twins?"
"I was born 4 minutes and 27 seconds before her. Thus, I am older."
"Look, we're not far from my place, and when we get there, she'll open the door to us. I know it's easier said than done, but relax a little. All of this stress is nowhere near good for you."
"What if she isn't there? Then what are we supposed to do?"
"She will be there, but if she isn't, we'll go find her." I smiled, hoping he would too. He exhaled deeply, very clearly trying not to cry. "Do you need me to drive?" I asked.
"No, I'm fine."
"Okay." I said gently. We both stared at the glum landscape in front of us in silence as we made our way home. The road was completely empty, as per usual, except from one black car that drove suspiciously slowly past us.
