Eclipse PoV:
We finally slid to a stop in front of the library.
"I win!" Solar panted.
"Yeah right, I got here first!" Seige chuckled.
"Technically you both lose." Wavelength walked into the library.
"What? Wait since when?" I hop after my friends.
"Since I was the first inside?" The tallest chuckles.
"His logic checks out." Flare shrugged.
The team grumbles and laughs. Flare did have a point. We followed Wavelength into the building and selected a table to wait at. Wavelength walked into the maze of shelves. My optics followed his back before I shook my helm. I'm crazy... Seige and Solar looked over something on social media. Flare messed with a charm on his school bag. Sighing I stand up.
"I'm looking for something to keep me busy." I explain before walking to a random section.
"Ok, stay safe!" Flare smiled before trying to see what the other two were looking at.
I peek through several genres as my wings twitched. One about Cybertrons first moon caught my optic. I've never been there, but there are apparently a few cities on the moon's surface. There are a few space bridges between Cybertron and the moons. Uncle Thundercracker visited one once, apparently the experience is worth the while. I scroll through the datapad looking for anything that might look interesting. My wings flicked again as several noisy bots walked through the aisle behind me. They were arguing about something. I huff and attempt to turn my attention away from them.
"I'm telling you! The captain said it would be here!"
"A stupid public library? You've lost your processor. No one would make a trade here!"
"No I haven't!! The key to our plan is here!"
My helm perked for a moment. Now that's not something you hear in an everyday conversation. Curiousity got the best of me as I attempted to follow the two. They must have caught on because I quickly lost them. Sighing my wings twitch again. So much for that. Shrugging I teleport back to my friends.
"OW." I hiss when I hit my knee pad against the table.
"Are you ok?!" Seige quickly looked up.
"Yeah I'm fine." I huff and sit down.
"Find anything?" Solar distracted me.
"Eh, just something about one of Cybertrons moons. Didn't look all that informative though."
Solar and Seige frowned. They both had their opinions on what to read. Factual books should get to the point while being both educational and interesting. Fiction books can do whatever so long as it makes sense in the book's world. There's more but it's annoying to explain...
"Did you happen to see Wavelength?" Flare asked while working on a math problem.
"No, I think he went to the back of the building." I shrug.
"Sounds like him." Seige chuckles.
Wavelength PoV:
Where is it? Come on! I huff and look through dozens of datapads. I frowned to myself. I don't see why my carrier couldn't just download the book himself. Nope, actually I do know. To keep me out the house, and out of his sight.
To much like your sire. You look just like that disgrace. Both of you are pathetic. You just had to take after him when you could have been more like me? What is wrong with you?
I grit my denta. I don't know how I feel about my sire... Who ever they are. Carrier never tells me anything about them. He won't even tell me how they met. At this point I'm convinced my Sire was a con. But Skywarp and Thundercracker were cons, and they're the best bots I've ever met!
"Aha!!" Found it!
I pull out the datapad victoriously. Bingo!
"Find it yet?"
I jump out of my metal and spin around. But no one was in the aisle with me?
"Yes you bucket for a processor! Get off my back!"
I relax when I realise no one was talking to me.
"Finally! Let's get out of here. The sooner the better. I don't want a petty cop biting at my tailpipe."
I tilt my helm confused. Being arrested for checking out a batapad? That made no sense. I walk over to the end of the aisle and listen in.
"No cops are gonna look for us in here. Let alone the very back of a library. Can't you just let it go?"
"I'll let it go when the datapad is back with the captain."
"Yeah yeah."
The two grumbled at each other some more. Now I was intrigued. Quickly trying to follow them I stuff the datapad in my subspace. I snuck behind them until my ped caught a shelf and I knocked over a bunch of disks.
"Slag break for it!" I heard one snap.
"Ow..." I stand up and clean up my mess.
So much for quiet. What the...? They dropped the datapad? I picked it up curious. "Ancient Cybertronian Relics Lost to Time." Sounded interesting. Still doesn't explain why they were acting so weird. Whatever. I walk up to the counter and check out both books. Of course the one earned a weird look. Maybe Solar will like the mystery book. Maybe Eclipse will. My tank did a small flip.
"Hey guys!" I sit back down with my friends.
"Hey Wavelength." Siege looked at my data pads confused. "I thought you only needed one?"
"I did. But some noisy weirdo's dropped the other."
"Weirdo's? You mean the ones going on about the police?" Eclipse looked over at me.
"Yeah. You guys saw them?" I tilt my helm.
"No, but Eclipse did." Solar shrugged.
"Yeah, shady fellows." She shrugs indifferently.
I nod. "Oh well. You or Solar can read it." I shrug and hand it to her.
Eclipse gives me a smile, which I gladly return.
