Walking away from the big doors to go fetch something your cousin left behind is such a pain, but at least she was nice about it. Something bad could've happened without me knowing, I would never forgive myself. It's a long walk and the wind might as well break my umbrella. I think I'm halfway there... I look at the clouds, strange it wasn't raining till the second I was about to leave. Can't believe I never noticed. Probably because it's really common to see rain here that sometimes you never notice the change.

The sound of rain can distract you from your mission sometimes... Whoops, I forgot where I was going, I am way to easily distracted and it won't do anybody good if I keep getting distracted, now I get to play the great game of 'Where am I!?' fun game. I should still get back quickly, what if they decide to cook? I gotta get back fast... Really fast... Sobbing Huh? I stopped in my tracks, time to go see what's happening in the middle of the night, in the soaking wet rain, in the worse part of the city, oh boy.

I passed the corner and around buildings to come to an old restaurant that's been abandoned for years. Outside of it nearby is a small petite boy under a light post, wearing a big coat that's way to big to be bought on purpose. Just the sight broke my heart, even though I've seen this kind of treatment across the city many times before, this time felt different. The way he's slouched down covered in scratches, he looks like he just now came into the rain. There is no one nearby who could have done such a thing, the door of the restaurant seems untouched. Something's off here, how did he just come into the rain if he didn't exit any building... Also, I heard sobbing earlier and this is where it came from, did he suddenly stop crying? Maybe he fell asleep... Without hesitating any further, I crouched down beside the boy with my umbrella, I was going to shake him because he looks like he was asleep, but when I came close tired eyes stared back at mine. "Hey kiddo..." I wanted to speak calmly, I didn't want to scare him, it's obvious he's been through a lot. Starting a conversation should also help me get to the bottom of this situation, can't help my curiosity either.

10 minutes

He hasn't said anything for ten minutes.
"Umm... Hey what's your name, mine is Amara." He stays quiet.
'Maybe I should take him back with me...'
I decided not to hesitate, scooped the small boy into my arms and sprinted back to the library. And no, I am not a librarian.

I think I can find my way back, he just now started to shiver as well. His huge coat makes him only a bit heavier but nothing I can't handle. Along the way I would sometimes try to speak to him- but all he really did was look up at me. Well would you look at that, he really wasn't the one crying, I already know nobody else was there. I knew something was off, I'll eventually get him talking.
I just remembered... Wasn't I getting something earlier. Oh yeah, my cousin left something behind. Pretty sure everything washed off it in the rain, I'll tell her that it should be fine, after all I got something way more important.

This is a familiar road, finally back on track. I look down at the boy in my arms once again. Has he been staring at me this whole time? Maybe he'll open up to my cousin... Maybe not, she is pretty bouncy and hyper, probably would think he is a giant plushie. How cute would that be, she may be short but she is surprisingly smart and very good at inventing things herself. Once I handed her a crowbar so she can get the basement door open. Due to someone running face first into it even though he's a doctor, the door got stuck. Once she handed me back the crowbar it looked like a figurine of a ballerina.

I couldn't help but crack a smile while thinking about it, I must've lost track of time because before I knew it I was in front of the very doors of the library. My home. I knock on the door slowly and step back for safety and...

" Oh Amara! Did you grab my gun?"

Look I did it, I made a prologue. Let's see if I can make it to 5 chapters give me a good girl award if I even make it to 6-

I drew Amara and smol boy-
If you don't think about it, Amara doesn't look like she hasn't touched grass in 15 years.

I drew them quickly but at least they look decent- Sorry the prologue is so short. I'll try to make the chapters longer than this- I do hope you will enjoy it. Bye bye!
