"Hello. My name is Sakura and I wanna tell you a story about someone I met. But the weird thing about this story is that me and him have never seen each other before and are separated by 100 years but I won't bother going over complicated details like that. All you need to know is that I fell in love with a boy named "Haru" who is 100 years apart from me. And this is the story on how I saved the one that I love from a tragic end".
Sakura was sitting under the cherry blossom tree as she watches people enjoy the spring festival that is going on in town. She is enjoying her time writing down on her book while enjoying the cool breezy wind. As the sun goes down, Sakura finished writing down on her book and teared the page she just finished writing down on and put it in a letter. On the letter she wrote "To Haru" and she left the letter in a hidey hole that is located on the cherry blossom tree. She waves goodbye to tree and walked back home. A boy named Haru picked up the letter from the hidey hole and read the letter that Sakura wrote to him. But Haru never saw Sakura before as the world around him is 100 years in the past from when Sakura is living in now. Haru sits up high in the tree as he writes the next letter for Sakura.
Haru wanders around town and helps out the poor with tasks. Haru wonders to himself "I wonder how people in the future help out the poor. Probably should ask Sakura about that." After he finished with helping them out. He walks toward the sacred cherry blossom and has already thought of a letter to write to Sakura. He writes down his letter and hopes for a speedy response from Sakura. Sakura just arrived at the cherry blossom tree as she sees the letter appearing in the hidey hole. She reads Haru's letter. "Hey Sakura. I've been wondering but how do people in the future help out the poor compare to what is going right now." Sakura grabs her book and quickly wrote him a letter. Haru received the letter as Sakura response with "There are so many new ways on helping out the poor but the best one is donating money and supplies. It's basically giving them money to use for their daily life and supplies such as food, clothing and shelter." Haru liked the way the future now handles with the poor unlike the past that he is living in where there are barely any people helping out the poor.
Sakura sips down on her coffee as she reads news about the past that Haru is living through right now. She scrolls down on multiple websites to find sources about Haru hoping there is a way of her knowing more about him. But she thinks to herself, "Wait. I can just send a letter to Haru and ask him that way. That's more simpler than researching up about the past." She writes down a new letter and sends it through the hidey hole as she patiently waits for Haru's response. Haru just happened to be at the tree writing a letter as he saw her letter come through. He grabbed her letter and read it thoroughly. He continues to write down on his letter but with added info in the back just for Sakura. Sakura then received the letter and read it. "Hey Sakura! I wonder how's life for you right now. Also, the past is pretty normal to me with all the different things going on it's quite hard to explain it fully to you but all I have to say is that majority of people are living a happy life here." Sakura really liked that letter as she keeps it in her binder book filled with past letters from Haru and she then response to the first part of his letter.
Haru was playing a game with some friends before feeling the whole world around him shaking. The shake wasn't that eventful so he shrugged it off for now. He continued playing with his friends once the shaking was over. Sakura was hanging out with some friends at a cafe area as she continues to read more about the past. She then found out more about the past of where Haru lives in. She saw something she never wanted to see but she needed to see the proof in person. She tells her friend that she has something to do and walks out of the cafe area with her laptop and drink. She took a taxi to go towards a graveyard. She walks around the graveyard searching for something she never wanted to be true but after a few minutes of searching she found what she was looking for. She dropped down onto her knees as tear begins to pour down from her eyes. On the gravestone in front of her writes. "Haru Nishikawa. Died in 1922. Died from earthquake." She never thought that the person she has been talking to had a tragic end. Sakura walks out of the graveyard and search for a safer place to use her laptop. She knows that even though they are 100 years apart, they are living in the same date as one another. She then looked up the date of when the earthquake happened and it's coming in just 3 days.
Sakura took a taxi to go near the sacred blossom tree and sprinted towards the tree. On her book she wrote "Haru. You need to evacuate alongside the other people in your town. There's a horrible earthquake coming to you right now. Please don't die to this. Please die in a more peaceful way than this. I don't want the person I love the most die like this." She puts the page in a letter and send it through the hidey hole. She anxiously waits for his reponse.
Haru sees Sakura's letter from the hidey hole and grabbed it. He read it and finally put the pieces together that explained the constant shaking that has been occurring. At night during the last day of the spring festival which happens to be the last day before the earthquake occurs in the night. Haru climbs up to the rooftops of one of the houses and screamed at the top of his lungs. "Everyone! We have to evacuate right now. There's an earthquake coming." People didn't mind his warning due to them always thinking he's crazy for talking with someone from 100 years in the future but suddenly the ground beneath them suddenly shacked aggressively and everyone finally believed him. Everyone ran as fast and far away possible from the area and some stayed behind to help others evacuate and that included Haru. But Haru had one more thing to do there. He look at the sacred cherry blossom tree and ran as fast as he could towards the tree as the ground around it begins to tremble. Haru throws his last letter towards the tree in hopes that it will reach Sakura.
A month passed and Sakura has never gotten any new letters from Haru. She is too scared to go to the graveyard to check if she changed the fate of her lover. Everyday of her life she spends it near the cherry blossom tree. Hoping one day a letter will arrive. One day she saw a piece of paper that finally fell down from the highest branch of the tree and she quickly climbed up the tree to grabbed that letter. She fell as she grabbed the letter but thankfully she had a soft landing. She looked at the letter and saw the words "From Haru". She teared up seeing the letter. She opened the letter up and read it thoroughly. "This might be my last letter to you and it breaks my heart to end this letter exchange with you. You have brought so much wonder to my life that I never knew I needed. I wished that I could have lived with you in the time that you are in right now but fate didn't want that. But at least fate gave us a way to talk to each other. I hope you are happy in your time right now. I wish I could have seen your smile. Sakura, I love you". Sakura breaks down crying after reading the letter but thankfully no one saw her there at the tree as she cries by herself.
Suddenly, a flash of light comes down from the cherry blossom tree. She looks around as she is in a different place that doesn't seem to exist and it seemed like it connects her time to Haru's time. She looks around and saw a boy who is as confused as she is. "H-Haru. Is that you?", she ask the boy. "Sakura? Wait is that you?", he asked back. "Yes it's me." She replied. The two of them ran closer to each other and finally saw one another for the first and probably last time in their life. Sakura sees a boy with black hair and hazel brown eyes who looks like a person that is filled with wonders. Haru on the other hand sees a beautiful brunette girl with hazel brown eyes who looks like a kind hearted person. "Did you survive the earthquake?", she asked him. He replied yes. The two got close to each other and hugged to know that what they are experiencing in the moment is real and not a figment of their imagination. "Please live a more happier and peaceful life now. You've survived a horrible incident and deserve to live to the fullest now." Sakura says to him. "I will and I hope you can move on now. We don't live at the same time and I want you to also live your life to the fullest. I want the person I love the most in this entire world to live a happy life too." he says to her. She cries and nods to his words. They continued hugging each other until Haru disappears in Sakura's arms.
Sakura was brought back to where she was and that was under the cherry blossom tree as the leaves of the tree starts falling down. Sakura got up from where she was and decided to check the graveyard once more. She took the taxi to there and unlike last time. She was able to find Haru's grave way faster than before. On the gravestone it writes, "Haru Nishikawa. Died in 1963. A Loving Husband and A Good Father." Sakura was finally happy to see her lover was able to live a happy life. She then walked out of the graveyard and decides to do the same as she wonders what her future will be like.
