I walk up to the healing coven area and walked up to the desk. "Name and who are you visiting?" The witch behind the desk asked with a monotone and almost bored voice.
"Amity Blight and I'm here to visit Luz Noceda." I said, lowly and calmly.
"Ah, the great human who defeated Belos, she's been wanting to see you since yesterday. Glad you finally showed up."
Yep, that's Luz... "So, if I may ask, what's her room number?"
"Oh, right, my apologies. It should be room five hundred and fifty-five." I nodded at him and made my way home to said room, it was on the highest floor and the farthest room. I arrived and opened the door to see Luz on a hospital bed. She had two sets of needles that had tubes attached on both of her arms, one for IV and one for blood for each arm.
"Hey, Luz... How's the... curse..?" She slowly went to grab a notepad and a pen that had a glowing gem on it to write with. She then started writing something down before showing it to me.
It's been fine, the healing coven's doing their best to help, and they somewhat did.
"That's good, so has it gotten better..?" She seems to be in thought for a moment before continuing to write. Not really?? It's not as bad as before, but I still do cough up blood, hence why tubes are connected to me. That's when I noticed that she had two tubes in her nostrils.
"Oh... Well, have the treatments been helping with that?" She seemed in thought again before continuing to write. They have. It's just that they only take away a bit of the pain, so I take quite a lot of pills. There's also injections, but only two of them really help, so I take those too.
I'm on a lot of medication, you could say. "I see... So, how have the past two days been?" She didn't even hesitate before she started writing again. Not the best, but today I already know will be the best day of my life.
"Oh, why's that?" She continued writing quickly and before she showed me her notebook, she gave me a quick smile. Because my awesome girlfriend is here with me. Damn you, Noceda, you're suffering from a curse, but you look at me with a sincere smile, it's making me sadder to see you in that state... "Is that so?
Is that why you're happier?" Yeah, Eda and King were here yesterday, making sure the healing coven wasn't doing anything that would make me worse. Willow and Gus came to visit afterwards. Hunter visited, which was an interesting experience. He told me how sorry he was and to get better then Raine and Eda visited in the afternoon along with Lilith. And today, you're the only person I want to see.
She smiled at me, a sweet sincere smile that I want to protect with my life. "Oh, well, I'm here now. Is there anything you want to do?" Hm, maybe we could read and watch the books and movies of the The Good Witch Azura series?? Or we could play Hexes Holdem?? Or both!
It's up to you. "Hm, I think we can read all the books and watch all the movies until the afternoon then play Hexes Holdem, sound like a plan?" She quickly nodded at me and that's what we did. The morning went by as we read five books and watched five movies. The afternoon came and we were playing Hexes Holdem until Luz put her cards face down as she grabbed the notebook and pen again as she started to write again.
If today was my last day, it would be the best day of my life. "That's a bit random isn't it?" I guess so, but still. I actually want you to promise me something, Amity. "Hm?
What is it?" Well, if I ever pass away, I'd like you to remember me with a smile, I don't want to be remembered and for people to be sad, I want people to be happy that they knew me. "Hm, I promise, but I don't think it'll happen anytime soon." You never know. I'll bet that my dad wanted the same thing...
Oh! That reminds me, when you meet my mom, can you keep her company? "Sure, but I don't know if she'll like me..." Oh, she'll LOVE you, trust me. Don't worry, she's sweet and caring.
"Well, I'll take your word for it." She strokes my hand as she gives me a sincere smile with a sweet look in her eyes before going back to writing. Thank you for being here, I love you and I'll always be here for you, even when I'm gone. I raised my eyebrow in confusion before Luz let out an extremely loud and agonized scream. When she stops, her body falls limp as her eyes lose the light in them, but her smile came back.
Her hand felt so cold. I froze, I couldn't move, even when Eda and some healing coven members burst into the room. No... No... They walked around me as they checked Luz's pulse and heart beat.
At one point, they quickly started moving her away while Eda put her hand on my shoulder. Eventually, she left too. I made my way back home and it turned to night, but I was still in disbelief and shock as to what happened in the healing coven. I locked my room's door and slept. The next day, many people were trying to call me on my scroll and even my parents were trying to get me out of my room.
Luz's funeral was held today, at least I assumed, I didn't bother attending. I stayed in my room for months and months, only coming out for food and hygiene. It stayed like that for even more months and months on end. One day, Emira slid Luz's notebook underneath my door to me which I grabbed and put in one of my bedside drawer's drawer. One day, I got an idea, an arguably bad idea. I thought it through and nothing seemed to make it a terrible idea.
It would only be difficult to pull together, let alone having it succeed. It'd be worth it though, it'd be worth all the difficulties that come with this new passion project of mine.
What if I brought Luz back to life?
