Y/N POV
"So, this is the spot you never stop talking about." I mused.
Tohru, Kobayashi and I were currently waltzing about the supposed meeting point of dragon and human. This was apparently where Kobayashi and Tohru had first met. It wasn't bad, plenty of tree cover to hide a wounded dragon and such.
"Yep, this is it." Kobayashi confirmed.
Of all the things we could've done today, I'll admit, this was probably the best. No people, nice walk, spending times with friends, more info on potential targets.
I shook my head as the last thought popped into my head.
No, no, they are people, good people, I will not do anything to them. I ordered myself.
"Are you sure, that's what you said about the last one and look what happened." My head teased.
I gripped my skull in anguish.
"Why can't you just leave me alone!"
"Huh?" Tohru suddenly responded.
"Argh, just a mosquito, nothing to worry about." I smiled.
Tohru nodded, curiosity still evident on her face. We continued to walk across the plateau as the sun beat down hard on, well one of us. Kobayashi was sweating, almost drooling from the heat. Meanwhile Tohru and I strode along oblivious to the conditions.
Airheaded dragon. I thought.
I walked up behind the overheating figure before wrapping my arms around her waist.
"Here." I muttered into her ear.
"Eh?!" She blurted in a panic.
I produced a frost bite spell from my forearms, just enough to cool her down.
"Aah, that's, thanks." She hitched; her voice laced with relief.
We stayed like this for a few seconds before I finished with my magic and attempted to liberate my arms from the female only to be pulled back.
"Just a bit longer, please." She whispered.
I complied wrapping my limbs around her waist once again and reinstating the spell.
"Hey, where are you guy..." A voice in front of us sounded.
Tohru had come around and was now standing atop a small mound in front of us. She stood there, staring, mind clearly scrambling to find an explanation to the situation.
"Just cooling her down with magic!" I called in her direction, not daring to budge.
"Well, if your done let's go." She muttered before turning on her heel and continuing back along the path.
I shot a look at Kobayashi as I leaned over her shoulder before we broke contact.
She merely shrugged in response; a red tint still evident on her face.
She's probably still hot. I confirmed in my head.
We trekked after the female, continuing our hike. What was that about? From both parties that situation was weird. What was with Tohru's reaction, and why did Kobayashi, demand physical contact?
I sighed before letting my mind wander.
Why am I sticking around these people? Sure, they were good individuals but that wasn't something that usually swayed me. Whoever I considered a friend would have to prove themselves in some way. They had to be really, really cool.
