Chapter 1 Why?

Percy's POV

It was after the Giant war and I was happy with my girlfriend Annabeth. I just came from a quest to prove to the gods [especially Athena} that I love Annabeth. The was to get 20 golden apples from the magical garden and defeat a monster. I was walking around camp when I heard a scream, I ran to half blood hill and found a baby hellhound and saw a kid run behind a tree. I quickly killed the hell hound and looked at the boy. He was running to me and he bumped into me. I fell and he took my sword and said " I killed it. Ha my first hell hound. " I was shocked. I mean didn't I kill it. I just shrugged and thought oh well he's new, I guess he wants some attention.

As the camp leader Chiron came the boy said " I defeated that thing and he just hid behind the tree. I was even more stunned. The nerve this kid had. I got up took my sword and started walking away. I heard Chiron say " I am very disappointed In Percy. why would he do this and not protect this boy. " I just kept walking and didn't listen. I was in this camp for 5 years and the new that boy for 10 seconds and they believed him over me.

The next couple of days I found out the kid's name was Nathaneil. He spread lies about me and said I did things I would never do. All my friends believed him all I had was Annabeth. I was really depressed. I walked to the pavilion for lunch and when I sat down I heard stumps walking towards me and I saw Nathaniel walking toward me " aren't you going to thank me " he asked." I saved your life." I just glared at him and turned back to eating my food. Just then Zeus and Poseidon appeared. " all hail Nathaneil Eldon, Son of Poseidon and my favorite son, Perseus Jackson I am disowning you ."

I felt a wave of pain wash through me and I screamed '' AHHHHH" and then It ended. I felt cold, angry, betrayed at least I still have Annabeth. I went to my cabin and slept for a bit when I woke up it was after dinner and the camp was not having camp fire since it was not Friday. So what was all the cheering for I went out side with Annabeth's ring in my pocket. I had built it my self and it had and owl eyes made of diamonds and had sea green around it.

I walked out side and saw everyone cheering I walked though the crowd to see who it was but all I saw was Annabeth and Nathaniel kissing. ''Annabeth" when she saw me I said '' how could you Annabeth I loved you I can't believe I was going to propose to you.'' I took the ring out showed her I heard gasps all around from the surprise that it was so beautiful.  I turned around and run to my cabin. I packed all my items except Riptide. then I went to the infirmary and took ambrosia and nectar. then I went to the woods and took a plant that no one knows could heal. I found about it when I went on a solo mission awhile ago. I left the woods and ran to the border of camp and out without looking back.
