It was an ordinary day for Kal, Mark, Dime, Benji, and John. As was their custom, they would spend a few hours at Kal's place after school before they each went to their own homes. This would include video games, a meal, and almost an hour of conversation between the 5 before each would go to their own homes.
However, this day wasn't an ordinary day. During their meal, Mr. Smack, Kal's father, barged into the home. "Boys! Get downstairs! Get downstairs!'
"What's going on?" Mark asked. "I'll explain everything soon, but get downstars!"
Without another protest, the group made their way down the steps. Soon enough, a banging sound was heard on the door. Mr Smack then lead them into a tunnel, and after they were a quarter mile in, the elder reached for Benji's arm, and with the flick of his free wrist, the tunnel closed. The group ran for some time, and then slowed to a walk, and then to a slow one at that. When they finally emerged, they were treated to the light of a grand temple. "This," Mr Smack began. "Is your new home."
"Before we go any further," Mark demanded. "Tell us what's going on."
"And how didn't I know about any of this?" Kal added, clearly frustrated at his father.
"And why did you grab my arm earlier?" Benji asked.
"Your father's didn't die in a car crash. They died fighting the Dark Warrior," Mr Smack began. "They weren't who you thought them to be. Most people don't know who they really were. Not even you truly know who you are yet.
Your fathers, including myself were weilders of a tradition and secrect that predates the naming of time. They, and now you, were the Masters of the Elements. They used this power to protect and to serve the world, not to serve themselves.
All the greatest threats thus world has faced were defeated by these Elemental Masters before anyone else knew of them. And they guarded the secret of their power with their lives.
Mark, to you is the gift of Fire, which makes you able to go on for months without food at a time. Dime, to you the power of Wind, allowing you to move so gracefully and swiftly that your enemy can never see.. or hear you coming. John, you have the gift of Water, and with that you may go several days at a time without breathing, and also that you can withstand any tempature in regular clothing. Benji, you are gifted with Earth, coming with immense physical strength. And to you, Kal, recive my gift of Energy, connecting you with all life."
"Who's the Dark Warrior?" John asked.
"An evil mastermind, weilder of Darkness itself. It took a joint effort between all of us to lock him away.... and now he has returned to wreak havoc on the earth. Now you five must learn to master the power of the elements in order to defeat the forces of evil."
"What about school? Or work?" John asked. "I think school can wait," Mark answered.
"Such is a sad thing that youths so young must be pulled from your school, but alas, duty calls. So rest up, for your training begins tomorrow," Mr. Smack announced.
