Leather and Midnight
Leather and midnight,
sky black and moon white.
Like an old movie, your
arms around me, kiss
on the big screen.
Film noir love dream,
shadows and cut scene.
Leather and midnight,
the scent on your skin,
this moment my birthright,
as I breathe you in.
Leather and midnight
unfolding around us.
bare before my sight,
you lie still in blind trust.
Leather and midnight,
you gift me your body.
We tangle 'til first light,
the sun a poor copy
of the silvery moonlight
that like opiate poppies
brought such wild delight.
Drunk on kisses all night
until morning stopped me.
Languorous, we sleep
tangled in one another,
in soft hotel bed sheets.
More than my lover,
my secrets, yours to keep.
Midnight and leather
brought us together,
salty and sweet,
caresses soft-feathered,
tentative and discrete,
but ever remember
this feeling, complete.
May never we sever.
