A few more days after, it was finally the day. The day of my mother's  funeral. I adjusted my tie, lacking any sort of expression on my face. A  gentle knock sounded from the door, "Are you ready?" Aunt Mary was  dressed in an all dark purple dress, which was the custom when attending  a funeral of a magic user - To dress in the color of their magic.

Which is why I was now wearing a dark purple suit, and not black.

"It feels weird to wear purple." I said, looking away from the mirror and to her.

She smiled half-heartedly, "You don't have to wear purple," She walked over  to me and adjusted my tie for me. "It's just an old custom." She  brushed my hair with her fingers and gave me a gentle smile. My hair was  naturally wave-y and messy, so it wasn't long before she gave up trying  to fix it.

"I forgot to ask, but who did you invite?" An emotion flashed in her eyes, though I'm not sure what.

She cleared her throat, "Some of our old friends, not that much people. Just close friends."

"What about family? Do we even have any left?"

"Your grandfather and grandmother are both gone, from your mother's side at  least . . ." She turned away, avoiding my eyes. "We should hurry up,  Will is already waiting for us in the car. Lock the door when you  leave." With that, she walked out of my room, leaving me with more  questions than answers. I finished getting ready and made my way to  their car.

The drive didn't take that long. We went into a  forest, thick with greenery, which apparently was the secret way into  Nirvana - The land of magic. We went into the deep part of the forest,  stopping in front of huge boulder covered with vines and moss. Aunt Mary held her hand out of the window and it glowed green, the boulder shook and the middle part of the rock eroded away, revealing a path. It was a deep contrast, compared to the dark and covered with fog forest, the entrance showed immense  sunlight.

As soon as we passed the entrance, we were greeted  with patches of lush green grass and colorful flowers. A long road led to the town square, which at the hearth stood a tall and magnificent water fountain  with a sculpture of a woman holding a sphere above her head as it shoots out streams of water. Simple brick houses laid spread in a wide circle  surrounding the fountain.

I was surprised to see that it was designed to be like a roundabout, with the roads acting like dividers for the houses.

Even from inside the car, I could see that there were a lot of people dressed in simple garments. T-shirts, jeans and whatnot. I snorted to myself, thinking that they would be wearing some sort of Middle-Aged outfits was definitely silly of me. People of all ages could be seen doing everyday mundane tasks, but there was one major thing that made them different - Magic.

An old man was using Fire Magic to make small sparks, imitating fireworks to entertain the small crowd of children around him. Some people that looked to be my age was using Water Magic to make sculptures out of the water from the fountain. Some of the citizens even had their belongings floating beside them as they walked.

Despite all of this, there was unfortunately still traffic on the road. "Ugh, when are the lights going to turn green," Uncle Will grumbled, his finger tapping on the steering wheel impatiently. "It's  been at least minute for heaven's sake."

I found it extremely amusing that a city whose residents could use magic would be complaining  about traffic. "I told you we should've just teleported," Aunt Mary laughed.

"But look at him, the look on his face is precious."  Uncle Will protested, using the rearview mirror to look behind and making eye contact with me. "What do you think? It's pretty cool right?"
