"I bet I can get her number faster than you," I said smirking finishg my glass of cheap alcohol. "You? pfft no way. She doesn't even look like she's into girls," my new friend replied.
"Oh really? Then your gay radar must be really poor." I placed my glass on top of the counter. "Watch me," I said. Walking on to the parquet as I ruffled my hair.

I walked into the club tonight with only one intention. Get drunk. To put you in the picture I recently went through an ugly break up. And ever since then my friends always told me that I'm not the person I used to be. Blah blah blah. We know it, 'the break up talk,' and now they're trying to, as they like to say, bring the old me back.
One of their great ideas was to go partying. Well I must admit it wasn't the worst idea since I actually kinda missed this. I go straight to the bar. My friends will be here in 10 minutes, or that's what they said.
"Hey cutie," I glance in the way of the sound. A man, not really good looking is basically stripping me with his gaze. I roll my eyes and turn my body to him.
"I don't know why you're here, but I'm pretty sure your intention wasn't hitting on a lesbian, was it?" The barman handed me a glass of whiskey that I ordered. I thanked him and took my tonights savior from his hand.
"If you're a lesbian, then why don't you go to a gay club, hmm?" The guy that tried to flirt with me says. "Well if you were bright enough you would know that people don't go to bars just to hook up with others. Plus I'm here waiting on my friends, whose was this great idea. Now please leave me alone, I want to get as drunk as possible before they come." I answered to him taking another sip from my glass.
He murmured something under his breath and left. But before I could celebrate my victory with yet another glass of whiskey, yet another not-so-handsome guy came over. "Leave." I said annoyed. I don't have the patience for this. "Wow, okay. I'm not here to hit on you m'lady," he said with a playfull smirk.
"The name's Adam,"he introduced himself. I looked at him from the side.
"...Nora."
"What a beautiful name you have."
"What do you want," I retored. This conversation was rather boring. "Jeez, I just came here to say that your come-back to that guy was pretty savage." I look at him raised eyebrows. "I wouldn't say savage." I replied. It was nothing I don't deal with on regular basis. Because from my experience guys love to flirt with lesbians.
"What's your real intention." I asked. "Okay, you got me. You said you were a lesbian, right?" I nodded, waiting what fucking nonsense was about to fall out of his mouth. "Can you see that girl, the one in red dress?". He pointed to the parquet.
I looked in the direction. And yes, I did saw her. She was one of the most beautiful human beings I ever encountered. With long brown hair, she was dancing so gracefully with her friends and a smile on her face. I quickly hid the blush that started to show on my cheeks by taking another sip from my glass. Or I would have, If my glass wasn't already empty. My blush got darker and I quickly waved to the barman to fill up my glass.
"Yes? And?" I asked, acting uninterested.
"Help me."
"Excuse me?"
"How dou you flirt with woman?"
"What kind of a man are you? You come to bars, to hook up with someone yet you don't even know how to flirt. And you are asking a lesbian. Which you discovered by eavesdropping on someone elses conversation." I roll my eyes. "What? No. I'm really good at flirting with woman." He said proudly. I gave him the are-you-serious look. "Hey, don't look at me like that. Ever since I started going to bars I always got what I wanted. But she's different," he whined. What a desperate little puppy. All this just to have a little fun time.
"Okay, let's make a bet. " I turned around, leaning againts the counter. Placing my elbows on top.
"I bet I can get her number faster than you," I said smirking finishg my glass of cheap alcohol. I just got. "You? pfft no way. She doesn't even look like she's into girls," my new friend replied.
"Oh really? Then your gay radar must be really poor." I placed my glass on top of the counter. "Watch me," I said. Walking towards the parquet as I ruffled my hair.
"But you were supposed to help me!!" he yelled back at me. Well.. too bad for him I guess. He might've had a chance before, but now?
The moment my foot touched the parquet, I slipped. Maybe that was enough alcohol for me tonight. Well at least until my friends decide to show up. Trying to stay upright I grapped onto the nearest person standing next to me. Lucky me, it was her. "I am so sorry," I apologized. Great way how to make the first impression Nora. I slapped myself in my mind. I looked over my shoulder just to see Adam snickering at me. I sticked my tongue out at him.
"No no, it's alright." She even has a beautiful voice. "Do you perhaps need some fresh air?" She asked me. "You know what, yes I do," I replied. She grabbed my arm and led me away from the paquet. We reached the door but before she could even touch the handle I quickly stopped her. "Let me," I said as I smiled at her and opened the door.
She shyly looked away and walked out the door. Before I followed that beautiful angel outside I turned around and blowed a kiss in the bars counters direction. Where I was met with a pair of angry eyes. Without any more interaction I left the bar.
"Do you feel better?" A voice said. My head snapped in it's direction. I almost forgot. "Yeah, I do." I said, turning my gaze up to the sky. The sky's clear tonight and although the towns light are bright you can still see stars. "So I was wondering, what's your name?"
"Oh, My name's Teresa.. What's yours?"
"Nora."
"You have a beautiful name Nora," She said. I quickly turned away, even tho she probably wouldn't see the blush on my face since the sun has already set. "Thank you."
"You should go back inside, your friends must be waiting for you," I suggested a little sadly. Even tho I would like to spend more time with her. I don't want her friends to worry about her. She chuckled. "Well my friends dragged me out here. To be honest I don't really like going to clubs."
"Then, stay with me." I retored. "Alright." She smiled back at me.
"Well Teresa, tell me something about yourself."
"So, my favorite past time is reading, I have a cat Bartholomeow and I work at a café."
"Your cat's name is Bartholomeow?" She nodded and I couldn't help but laught. "Hey! It's a great name, he's a royalty you know," she cooed. But I saw a smile form on her lips. When we stopped laughing she asked me to tell her something about myself.
"I work in the business department, I don't have any pets, I have a little brother, my favorite color is orange and I'm a lesbian," I saw her stiffen when she heard the last part. "You are a lesbian?" she asked me. "Yes that's what I said. Do you have a problem with it?" I questioned. "No no," she waved her hands infront of her torso, "I don't. I'm actually bisexual. It's just that, you don't look like a lesbian."
"Just because I don't have short hair and I don't wear masculine clothes doesn't mean I can't be into girls," I replied. Teresa nodded and relaxed her posture, "Yeah I know, I'm sorry."
"Hello ladies!" A very annoying voice said. I rolled my eyes. "Go away Adam."
"Aww Nora, but I'm your friend. And who is this, will you intoduce me?"
"No, go away."
But he already reach out his hand. "The name's Adam." "Teresa." she replied and shaked his hand. Then he sat between us, and as he was sitting down he whispered in my ear: "A bet is a bet."
