Let Me Have Love

"This is crazy!" Shouted Dream.

He and HD were now running through a forest. The forest George slept in. The forest where he lay amongst flowers, grass and mushrooms.

"Well, at least no one has realised that you're gone. Anyway, we should be there soon." HD said

"Holy shit I'm actually going to get to see George." Dream said in disbelief.
"Wait. I'm not ready. I look like a mess. There's no way George can see me like this."

HD sighed.
He remembered a time when he use to fuss about his looks whenever he went to see XD. It's just a natural thing, wanting to look amazing in front of the person you love.
That's why many people tend to show off in front of there crushes.

I guess in a way HD still does.
He loves XD after all, doesn't he?

'Come on HD, nows not the time to question your feelings.' He thought to himself.

"You'll be fine. George loves you, he won't care what you look like. He'll only care that you're there." HD said.

"You know, you're surprisingly good at giving out advice."

"That's what happens when you live for thousands of years." HD said, rolling his eyes.

"Oh yeah, duh. Your like old and wise. And magic. Are you Dumbledore? Or maybe Gandalf?"

"You did not just compare me to those two. I don't look old, I don't have a beard. And I definitely don't need a staff or wand to perform magic."

Dream stopped running.

"Can we take five. I'm getting tired." He said.

"Yeah, sure. Here's some steak, since you'll probably need to eat." HD said, handing Dream 3 steak.

"Thanks. Hey, what do God's eat?"

"Hm? We don't really need to eat. We get our energy from living things. Similar to eating but not exactly. Besides, to us food
is always bland. The only things we can really taste are golden apples and golden carrots." HD replied with.

"That sounds like a shit life. I mean imagine not being able to taste much when eating. That sounds awful."

"I guess for me it isn't. It's just the way life has always been, so I don't know any different."

Dream finished eating the steak he was given.

"Thanks for the steak HD." He
said, gratefully.

Dream then let out a small yawn. He sometimes got sleepy after eating a big meal. And after living off potatoes, 3 steak was a huge me.

"Yeah no problem. Let's set up camp here because it's getting dark. You should sleep. I'll keep watch because God's don't have to sleep that often."

"That would make you the opposite of George then." Dream said.

HD chuckled at the joke, despite getting a slight twang in his heart causing his stomach to drop.

Was he jealous? No can't be.

Although, this is the exact same feeling he gets when XD talks about George.
But it's different, right?

I mean, he's jealous of George. Not of the fact that Dream and XD like him. I mean he is jealous that XD likes him. But not Dream.

Yeah! He's jealous because George gets everyone. Everyone loves him.

Dream set up a bed. Then he turned to face HD.

"Good night, HD. And thank you again for doing this. I'm sorry I felt so poorly about you before, you're not bad at all."

"If you keep on thanking me, or apologising, then I will be bad. Might even kill you because it's so annoying. " HD returned in a somewhat playful manner.

Dream laughed a bit.

"Ok, ok. I understand. Good night then, see you tomorrow."

Dream climbed into the bed and faced the opposite way to HD. He closed his eyes and with one last "Night" he drifted off to sleep.

That left HD alone with his thoughts. Alone with his feelings and emotions. Which is probably not a good thing. Or maybe it is a good thing.

He was jealous of George, he knew that. But why was he truly jealous of George? There had to be more to it.

'I wonder if... No there's no way that's right.' He thought to himself. However, that thought continued to linger in his mind as he sat there in silence.

For fucks sake.

If only this all wasn't so complicated. If only Dream was never put in prison. Then George wouldn't be in that coma, and he would never have met XD.

But, that would mean that he never would have met Dream.
' I can't have that' He thought.

To HD meeting Dream wasn't a bad thing.
He finally felt happy. So very happy.

He was trulyhappy. That is something that he hasn't felt in a long time. Maybe thousands of years. And that is the way Dream makes him feel. Dream made him feel truly happy.

Maybe it was love. Maybe he was in love with Dream. Maybe that was it.

No not maybe. That was definitely it. This is the same feeling he feels towards XD and he knows that feeling is love.

He is in love with XD.

He is in love with Dream.

Although, he knows that he can never have Dream. Because Dream's heart belongs to George, as it has always done.

'Fuck. I've done it again. I've fallen in love with someone I can't have. There really is something wrong with me.'
HD thought, tears rolling down his cheek.
'Why can't I just be happy. Let me be selfish for once, let me have the one I love, please. I know you can hear my pleas.'

"Please" He whispered with slight hurt in his voice.
"Please let me have one. I love them both. XD and Dream. I love both of you, yet I can't have either of you. I beg the rest of you gods, let one of them love me because its not fair. For heavens sake it's not fair. "

Dream layed on his bed, facing away from HD.

His breathing was quiet but uneven. He wasn't scared. More happy than anything.

This was because his eyes were open. He was wide awake.

'HD loves me? A God, loves me? Me? A human.'
