He looks at me through the crack in the door with amusement in his eyes. He seems to want to play this game.
I can see her through the crack and she is arguing with her sister and begging her to not force her to serve the tea, I can tell she is a fighter. She looks at me all of a sudden. I was about to look away but I didn't because the look in her eyes made me nearly give her my heart and all of me.
He looks at me with shiny eyes just like the ones I dreamt for as a child, but I'm not a child anymore. I don't fall for them, but for a moment I'm sure I saw some emotion I want to see again and again but only for me. I ignore those feelings and glare at him like ‘wtf are you looking at’, he smirks. Did he just smirk at me! Hell no! Before I go there and slap that idiot my sister pushes a tray with chai in my arms, forcing me to hold it tight. She tells me to straighten my back and fake a smile for a while. She gives me a slight push into the living room.
She walked in and took all the attention of the room filled with her and my parents.
“And that is our Ayla”. Her mom says with pride.
I smile a little once I hear her name. She greets everyone and serves them their chai, she is with my father and she looks at me with a slight playful smirk.
She moves over to me and asks “how much sugar would you like?”
I can't help but feel excited at the tension.
“I dont like sugar in my tea.''
She nods and smiles and puts 2 spoons of sugar in my tea and hands it to me with a bright smile and says " Some people need sugar to sweeten their lives.”
Our parents look at her in shock, my mom makes that judgmental face at my dad trying to tell him that she is definitely not it. But I don't feel that way, I like her. No, I love her. Something about her eyes and smile makes me feel like we belong together, the way she speaks and moves just makes me want to make her mine. I have totally fallen for her. I drink her heavenly tea and she is right, I need sugar to sweeten my life.
