Bucky sat on his bed, looking around his new room. It'd been a couple of day since he'd recovered his arm, and Mr. Stark had put him in the room to get him started with adjusting to his new life.
He then heard a knock on his door. He walked to it, and opened it to find Rick there, a smile plastered on his face.
"Mind if I come in?" He asked.
Bucky shook his head and stepped aside, letting his double come in. Rick gingerly stepped into the room, looking around at the empty space.
"So...how's the move-in going?" He asked.
"Fine. I guess there's not much to move." Bucky chuckled. "Aside from myself, that is. I really thought it would be awful in the future."
Rick raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
"Yeah," Bucky responded. "I thought we'd win the war, go home, and lead normal lives again. I thought all the excitement would be taken out of life afterward. Turns out, it's actually pretty amazing."
"Huh...I never thought about it that way. I guess I though you two would need a rest from the fighting." He leaned against the wall.
"Are you kidding? I'd get so bored I might start fights just to have something fun to do."
Rick laughed. "You really are something, aren't you. And my mom said I was wild."
"She had no idea. Speaking of which, do you still have a family?" Bucky asked.
Rick nodded. "They live pretty far from here, though." He seemed distracted by something distant. "I haven't seen them in a while. I left for New York a few months ago, and met up with the Hulk. I, being eighteen, had to get out of the house, so here I am."
"Wait, you're eighteen?" Bucky was surprised.
"Yeah, why?" He looked puzzled. "How old are you?"
"I'm sixteen." Bucky laughed. "We're decades apart in time, and two years apart in physical age, yet we look the same?"
"Seriously? That's crazy! I thought you were eighteen."
Bucky laughed again. "This is one of the craziest things that's ever happened to me, and I love it."
By this time, they both were sitting on the bed, chuckling and chatting, when the door was knocked on again. It opened, and Cap stepped in, looking puzzled at the two teens. He was obviously wondering which was which. Bucky and Rick looked to each other with the same expression on their faces.
"Bucky?" Said Cap.
They both responded: "Yep?"
Cap looked from one to the other, and quickly decided it wasn't worth it. "Nevermind." He closed the door after he walked out.
The two looked at each other, grinning from ear to ear. This was going to be fun.
