Hey peeps! So, this is my first book, it'll probably be awful and super cringe, but I hope you enjoy it! I haven't actually planned anything out, so I'm making this up as I go. Feel free to leave tips and suggestions in the comments. Thanks! Anyways this book contains: Lava, Pixane, Jaya, and a few other ships so if you don't feel comfortable with these please feel free to leave! Anyways let's get on with the story!

                                                                       Kai

Kai rolled onto his side and moaned. The loud banging on his door continued.

"Wake up you useless piece of shit!" The scream sounded into his room.

Kai sighed and slowly got out of bed, "Coming Mrs. Shina." Kai answered.

The banging finally stopped, and he heard footsteps echo down the hall.

Kai had been adopted by Mrs. Shina when he was thirteen, being forced to work in order to keep up with Shina's demand for wine and alcohol. The woman had been widowed for six years and had drunk in her grief. She quickly had run out of money and had adopted Kai to work. Nowadays, she had lain off of alcohol ever so slightly, which gave him breathing room. He still had to work but not near as often as before.

Though Kai was seventeen now, he still had trouble putting up with the abuse coming from the woman. His only way of getting away was school and his secret job as the fire ninja.

Kai quickly got changed and tossed his pajamas onto his bed, he'd have to wash them later. Kai quietly unlocked his door and made his way through the hall into the kitchen where Mrs. Shita sat chugging a glass of alcohol.

"About time. Here's your breakfast, now get out of my house." The woman spat as she tossed Kai a half of a sandwich.

"Thank you, Ma'am." Kai muttered as he grabbed his backpack and rushed out the door.

The early sun peaked over the hills and onto the streets. The air was chilly, but calm. Kai could make out little bits of snow in the shade from last winter, it was early spring, and Kai had gotten off of winter break a few weeks ago to his relief.

Kai breathed in the cool air as he walked, it was nice and soothing, but it did little to help his sour mood. Once Kai arrived at his school, he made his way to his locker. He was usually one of the first kids to arrive, but today the halls echoed with chatter.

"Look who finally decided to show up eh?" Someone asked. Kai growled and flipped him off.

"Go fuck on someone else Morro, I'm not in the mood today." Kai shot back as he opened his locker.

Morro smirked and slammed Kai's locker shut. "Too bad loser." Morro said with a grin.

Kai fumed and was about to reply when someone jumped in.

"Leave him alone Morro, Kai said he wasn't in the mood so back off." Lloyd warned as he stepped in between the two boys.

Morro laughed, "What you gonna do 'bout it, Greenie?" Morro asked with a mocking smile.

Lloyd mimicked his smile, "I don't want to have to report you Morro, it'd be a shame to see a bad mark on your 'perfect' record." Lloyd replied with a faked sad expression.
