It started when Marin and her friends brought Pocky to their classroom. Gojo was sitting by himself in his chair and enjoyed their vacant time by reading the book about making cosplay. At first, Marin went up to him to check on what he is doing but after seeing that he was reading the book she told him that she was going to the convenience store to buy food with her friends.
The noise inside the classroom was mild and the boys were talking about games and other things. Gojo focused on the book and started making drafts in his mind. Then, Marin's group came back with her friends while carrying a plastic bag. There were Pocky biscuits in it.
It was a biscuit that looks like a twig or a breadstick. It was coated with a sweet flavor. Most students use it to play "Pocky Game" for fun. You just have to eat the Pocky stick with someone on the other end and finish it till the last bite.
Sometimes, people just use it as an excuse for wanting to kiss someone.
Marin's group was just eating it at first then her friend leaned as if asking her to play the game. Marin bit back and ate the whole thing easily. They started laughing and causing noise, eventually, garnering the attention of the whole class.
Gojo also looked up to see the commotion. Marin's group was laughing and giggling. His eyes went to Marin who was smiling so big that her face stretched so widely. Even so, she looked very cute and charming. Unconsciously, Gojo smiled too.
Marin felt Gojo's stare so she moved her gaze towards him and gave a cheeky grin. There was something in her grin that made Gojo suspicious.
Uh...she must be planning something.
To avoid being included in such an activity, Gojo returned to reading the book. If he does that, Marin will not disturb him.
Even so, he couldn't help but listen to them. He cannot focus on his reading at all. Though he tries not to take a glance and to mind his business, his ears perk up whenever Marin's name is called or when she speaks.
"Hey~this looks fun!" A group of boys who came back from the canteen huddled over Marin's friends.
"Do you want to play?" One of Marin's friends asked.
Gojo's sense of hearing heightened.
"Sure," The boy responded coolly.
It seems that Gojo's heart started palpitating...in an unpleasant way.
The match started and many classmates crowded over their area, blocking Gojo's vision of Marin. He tried to act uninterested but a lot of his classmate's noise made him all the more interested in it.
If Marin is not part of that game, he wouldn't feel as conflicted.
Haa...who are you to feel like that?
Gojo wants to slap himself for feeling that way. He turned towards the window to help him refresh his mind.
"Ah! It's Marin's turn!"
Gojo's whole body went rigid from those words and he struggled not to look towards their spot. In the end, he took a peek even though he cannot see Marin.
"Oh! Oh!" The students were gushing over the scene.
Gojo's nerves popped.
The amount of noise reverberating across the classroom made Gojo's head turn. Plus, the thought of Marin doing that game made him all the more dizzy and confused. He got up from his seat and walked out of the classroom.
But not without taking a glance.
To his advantage, he saw Marin because of his height. Among the boys, it's no doubt that Gojo is the tallest. Before he exited the door, he looked back to see if he can see Marin. The moment he did, their eyes met each other, Marin stared wide-eyed while having eaten about 1/10th of the stick.
