I was just sitting in algebra watching the clock tick my life away and doodling in my notebook about my crush Ethan. The teacher was going over equations on the board and explaining last nights homework that I did not do, then over the intercom I heard a loud buzzing. The apple TVs that were suspended in the corner of every room began to show a blue screen and an Emergency Broadcast System message started to play. Most of the kids in class began to panic in their seats, anxious to see what would happen.
The president began his message,"A new threat has plagued our nation, a new disease, an infection if you will."
"The infection 22BAX has been accidentally been exposed to the public and is running rampant. Please return to your homes and do not leave unless advised otherwise."
The entire school was released early and I was on my slow journey home walking next to a park full of trees and children playing without a care in the world. I was filled with emotions and I couldn't think straight. What would happen next? What about my family, my friends, or anyone that I actually care about.
"Brianna! Wait up!, a familiar friendly voice rang behind me. I turned around to see Ukiah and Juan sprinting toward me. Juan was in a serious panic and Ukiah was just standing there, towering above me.
"Girl, to be quite honest...daddy's afraid." Juan said through quick pants from running.
Ukiah chimed in."To be quite honest, daddy needs to chill the fuck out. I'm sure we'll be fine...hopefully."
