When the youth arrived to the tower where Briar-rose was sleeping, he couldn't help kissing he beautiful princess.
This was a big mistake, for, in doing so, he not only infected himself with the sleeping curse, but also spread it for another hundred years.
It turned out that, as it was the day the spell ended, the evil Golden Woman prowled around the castle, intent on punishing the whole kingdom again.
Thus, another hundred years passed, during which many brave men tried to undo the spell, but none succeeded.
On her deathbed, the evil Golden Woman confessed that only a wicked soul like her own could break the curse. She had felt so bad about not being invited that all this time she had been secretly cursing the kingdom.
This news spread around the world, and soon the princes stopped travelling to the castle.
Over the years, the castle became so buried that it was impossible to know whether Briar-rose had finally awoken.
Several explorers swear to have heard noises coming from a castle, and legend has it that one of the Golden Women gave Briar-rose and her prince a newborn baby girl, whose cries had awakened the castle.
However, no one ever left the castle again, and today it is nothing more than a memory.
