After getting a tour around Monster Incorporated by Mike and Sulley, you suddenly hear this, "Hey, old friend." It's a guy's voice. You turn around and you see a familiar purple scaled guy. He looked almost too familiar to you. He's a reptile. Has the same eight limbs as that boy you remembered. The one with the glasses.
You say, "Wait..." You approach him and you say, "R-Randy? Randall Boggs?" He grins and says, "I see you remembered me, (Y/N)." You say, "I was told you worked here. And James Sullivan." He says, "Oh yeah. HIM." You say, "Randy. He's changed." He says, "But he never stopped messing with ME until we finished high school. You were my friend, (Y/N)... He was a fucking jerk!"
Sulley says, "Randall. That was a long time ago and I'm sorry. You need to get over it." Randall says, "Nobody gets over bullying, Sullivan. You just stopped picking on her because she's a chick." You say, "Randall. He stopped because I stopped caring what he thought of me. I know you were pushed, but are you any different if you've become the villain?"
He looks at you. You sigh and you say, "I'll be back." You walk off. Mike and Sulley follow you and Mike says, "(Y/N)! Wait!" Randall sighs and says, "Nobody's born a villain, (Y/N). Life does this to you. He won against me in the scare games in college and that was the final straw. I couldn't take much more. Bright side is, I have a girl I talk to through text." He grins.
(Time skip.)
You're in a lounge on your break. With you is Sulley. He's seated across from you at a round table. He says, "(Y/N). There's something you've been meaning to tell me. What is it?" You say, "James. There's something you need to know. Why I stopped caring what you thought of me." He says, "Go on."
You say, "James... Seventeen years ago, I came into your neighborhood and came to your place." He says, "Come again?" You say, "Yeah. I happened to be there. Right outside your window. I looked in and witnessed what had happened. I saw the conflict between you and your dad. My brother told me something about this. Rest his soul."
He sighs and says, "So, that's why you stopped trying to fight back, huh? I feel horrible." You say, "No. Don't. I saw how horribly your dad had treated you. You picked on others below you to cover up the fact that you were the one that was hurting. Am I right?"
He says, "I just wanted my dad to be proud of me. My mom died when I was really young and my dad had been the only parent around. But he was not a great guy like everyone saw him. Not at all. He expected too much out of me. He showed no emotion nor did he shed a tear after my mom passed."
You say, "I'm so sorry, James. I know what it's like to lose a family member. I lost my brother, Marcus. I've heard and witnessed everything between you and your dad. He told you he'd disown you if you didn't become top scarer, right?" He sighs and says, "Yeah... He did say that." You say, "And he pushed you aside as he walked passed you." He says, "Yeah. He did that a lot."
You sigh and you say, "James. This is why I stopped trying to fight back at you at the end of fifth grade. I was only eleven years old when I saw this. Even then, I got why you were such a jerk to me and others."
He says, "(Y/N). Exactly how did your brother die? You told me it was from a car accident." You sigh. He says, "Oh hey. It's okay if you don't want to tell me." You say, "No no. It's okay. I'll tell you." He looks at you.
You look at him and you say, "Two years ago, Marcus was on his way to work at the CD store. It's across the Monstropolis bridge. A big truck came at him and slammed into him. His car swerved and he came at the edge of the bridge. He flew out and fell down the bridge. But he didn't land in the water... he ended up hitting a concrete part of the bottom of the bridge."
He says, "Oh my god. Oh, (Y/N). I... I'm sorry." You sigh and you say, "It's... It's okay. If anything, James. I would've rather been teased by you back then with how you were... than to lose my own brother. THAT was the worst day of my life after finding out. The way you treated me was nothing. My brother's death is what hurt me most. I looked up to him. He was a role model to me. And now... he's gone." You sigh and you put your hand up to your face.
