"So...are you getting married?" Jennie asks Jisoo when the doctor came to visit New York to meet her parents

"Not yet, we're gonna try  living together - call it a trial event"

Jennie scoffs, "aren't you a little too old for that?"

"Exactly, we don't want to get tied down in our 30s and find out we're not up for it" Jisoo reasons

"Sounds like Chaeyoung's idea - not that it's not good but I do get where she's coming from" Jennie takes a bite of her food, "she does have a kid"

"I know but sometimes I feel she doesn't trust me around Cassie" the doctor voices out, "I mean I know it's not exactly my expertise nor do I have experience but I know the basic stuff"

"Trust me it's different when you actually have to take care of the kid - like how you can recite the step by step process of an operation but it's different in practice"

"It's not that hard" Jisoo shrugs

"Yeah cause you have like years of practice under your belt but not with taking care of a kid - do you get my point?"

"Yes" Jisoo grunts, "enough about me, what about you and Lisa"

"We're doing great" Jennie says, "better than I expected actually"

Jisoo raised an eyebrow, "it's been a year Jennie, you can't just be great - when are you getting married?"

Jennie shrugs trying to play it down, "Lisa haven't asked yet"

"Why don't you ask her?"

"Why me? I'm the woman in the relationship"

"You're both the woman in the relationship - that is the point of being gay" Jisoo points out, "and come on! If gays can now walk the street freely then you should be able to propose freely too"

"Did you just compare my situation to the whole history of gays being oppressed and harassed?" Jennie asks incredulously

"Meh - your part of that history anyway and so am I, which is why I'm proposing after this trial or whatever"

Jennie looks at her in shock, "are you sure? It's called trial for a reason"

"I don't think anything can ever change the love I feel for Chaeyoung" Jisoo admits, blushing a little from saying this to Jennie, "And Cassie too, I think kids are snotty little assholes but she is the most amazing kid in the world" 

"Love is..." Jennie sighs, "Love is complicated and I love you both but please don't rush into things"

"I thought we're too old for that?"

"Well...30 is not that old"

Jisoo laughs, "you're only saying that cause you're 30 and Lisa haven't proposed yet"

That earned the doctor a punch in the shoulders, "asshole"

Jisoo stares at Chaeyoung's message

Please pack a week long clothes when you get home, I don't like Cassie thinking you're not sleeping here

I barely get enough sleep when I'm there anyway ;)

She sighs at the last message, "Love is complicated"
