"Do you really have to leave?"
It was my last day in Marietta, Ohio. Late tonight i would be flying out to New York with my older brother as we both received scholar ships at the same Academy, mine in fashion design, his Football.
Right now it was the last period at Ashton High and i was stuck in Math, listening to Mr Weezer, talk about absolute nonsense in one ear and my best friend Carmel complain about me leaving in the other, definitely a great last day in Ohio.
"Come On Tully! You know nobody wants you to leave, i get that you have a scholar ship and whatever but you got one for Ohio to, why do you have to go all the way to New York, stay with me!"
"You know why Carmel? New York has more to offer, Im going and thats that, i can't back out now, even if i could i wouldn't, I'm sorry Carmel, but you know how it is"
Im a junior, soon to be studying design in New York which i'm so static about but I'm also sad to be leaving all my friends and family behind. I've lived in a little town in Ohio for my whole life and now its time for the biggest change of my life and i'm not sure if I'm ready for it.
The bell signalled the end of Math meaning the end of my time here at Asher High. As i was walking out the main doors of the school i got a few nods and good byes from fellow peers, i made my way over to my motorcycle in the school parking lot when Carmel approached me again.
"Im sorry about early Tully, I'm just sad that your leaving. I'm going to be so lost with out you, honestly what am i going to do!"
"Carmel" I started "You're a bright, understanding, cheerful, most wonderful friend i've ever had, i've know you since birth, you're pretty much my sister and when i say you'll be fine, i mean it. You're a tough individual, you'll make it through the big world. I'm only a call away" I saw Carmel wipe a tear from her cheek and i smiled a weak smile and embraced her in a massive hug. Carmel tightly hugged me back. Knowing this will be most likely the last time i ever see her i let a tear roll down my cheek, quickly wiping it away.
"Well i have to head off now, but i'll call you once i get in New York and fill you in on everything. I love you Carmel, Speak soon" I embraced her one more time before jumping on my bike, swinging my bag over my back and putting my helmet on. I started the motor and zoomed off out of the school parking lot.

I opened the front door placing my bag on the hook. I walked into the kitchen grabbing some bread, Avocado, cheese and Chicken from last nights dinner throwing it all into a sandwich and walking into the lounge room where i saw mum and dad sitting on the couch, i'm guessing in the middle of a deep and serious conversation by the looks on there faces. I slowly backed out of the room with half the sandwich in my mouth, knowing i would be lectured again for like the thousands time, when i hear my mum call out my name.
"Tallulah, Come Back please, We would like to have one last final word before you departure"
I curse under my breath and make my way back into the lounge room with my sandwich now on the plate.
"Now Tallulah" before my dad could start his sentence i cut him off
"I know what your going to say dad" I put on my best Father voice "No boys at the apartment besides your brother, no boyfriends until graduation, No drinking, partying and no smoking"
I heard my mum and dad chuckle
"But also Tallulah, Your father and I were thinking, even though we have those rules for you, it doesn't mean we don't want you to get out their and have some fun because by all means, socialise! Just be careful" My mum explained, i nodded before leaving the room and running up the stairs into my room where i guess i'll have to finish my sandwich.
I finally finished packing all my belongings into boxes and my brother and i were now on our way to the airport.
By Brother, Ryder is a senior this year meaning he won't be at school with me next year which kind of sucks because we both are really close, we actually enjoy each others company. He has blonde hair like myself but dark brown eyes. He's a very good athlete and is freakin fit for someone a year older then myself, you see all the boys my age and there all scronny little boys then you see the year above and its just like cinderella's fairy god mother has put some spell on them and turned them into hot mature older men, oh my god they're amazing.
We finally arrived at the airport, looking at my watch, it was 9:40pm and our flight was at 10:15pm. We didn't have long before our flight because by the time we got our luggage checked and sent off it was 10:10 which means it was a run to our terminal.
"Hurry Up Tully were going to miss our flight!" I could hear Ryder screaming for nearly 20 meters in front of me.
"My little legs can only get me so far!" i yelled back. In response to my voice i hear Ryder stop, pick me up and start running again. i couldn't help but laugh my ass off as i saw this old couple start giggling as Ryder strode past them. we made it to the terminal with 2 minutes to spare. We waited in line and soon after the Ticket lady collected our tickets and it was time to jump onto the plane.
Your probably wondering why this isn't an emotional experience for me, as for my brother who is pretty much bawling his eyes as we walk to the plane, well thats simply because i didn't really have anyone to let go of. I had Carmel, Mum and dad. That was it. I never really was a social person, i didn't interact with anyone, just due to the fact that i didn't believe i needed more then one close friend, but now that i do enter a big city, with millions of people, i am worried of the outcome and how this is all going to pan out. I'm not emotional about leaving Ohio also because their was no way in hell i was going to make it big in a small town like that. i needed my big break and this was it.
We took our seats on the plane, First Class, Thanks mum and dad. Ryder plopped his ass next to mine. The seat belt sign was turned on and we buckled up.
"Welcome aboard, Please fasten you seat belts, This is flight MS1094 Ohio to New York, please sit back, relax and enjoy your flight" the women over the speaker announced.
I was now ready to start the new episode in my life and quit frankly, i was bloody excited to do so.
"You ready?" Ryder turned his head towards my direction and smiled
"Ready as i'll ever be" I smiled back.
