The rain fell like ice from the sky- the sound it made as it fell on the roof didn't sound calm. But for some reason I liked that type of weather. Usually I would stare for hours out the window, watching every raindrop fall to the ground. I was in my own fantasy, but those never last- mine ended when mom yelled, "Nia, would you help me with the soup." I didn't want to disobey her so I went.

When I got there, she said she forgot to buy onions- what's the point of making onion soup , if you gonna forget the onions. She wanted me to run to the supermarket, while it was raining.

The thing about rainy days- it's nice to watch from the window with a blanket rapped around you, instead of walking in, barely seeing anything just to buy onions.

I was glad I went, at the supermarket I saw my crush.

I was barely tryin' to look at him, when he decides to walk towards me. "Hey"
"Hey?" I replied, wondering why he decided to talk to me after 3 years of being in the same class.

"I'm actually glad you're here " he said with a charming smile on his face. "Why's that?" I added. "I was feeling lonely, I came alone to the supermarket."
"So have I but you don't see me complaining."
"I'm not complaining, but anyway what are you here to buy?"
"Onions." I said feeling embarrassed.
"Why're you buying onions?"
"My mother's making onion soup, but magically forgot the onions."
He laughed, I couldn't help but to stare at him.
"Are you walking alone home?" He added out of nowhere.
"Yeah"
"Then I'll walk with you"
"Why"I asked.
"I wanna get to know you better, we hardly talk at school."
"That's because you never start the conversation."
"Nah, it's probably because you like staring at me in class."
When I heard those words I was in shock.
"What's up with the staring?" He said as he was interrogating me.
"Would you look at the time?My mom is waiting on the onions."

I rushed to the till, he ran after me

"Nia!" He exclaimed.

I turned around. "What do you want?"
"I noticed you didn't have an umbrella, so I wanted to give you mine... I'm driving home anyways, so you can have it."

As I took the umbrella I, we stared in each other's eyes.

HOOT,HOOT

The sound of his father's care went.

He slowly left the umbrella and ran to his car.

When I got home, I barely could feel my feet because of being out in the rain so long. The worse part was that it continued to rain for the last two weeks.

I've wondered If I'll se Nate again. He seemed pretty interested in my eyes the other day.

On my way to school- this time I wasn't walking, I drove with my father. He dropped me at school, when I got out of the car, it started to rain heavily forcing me to go class even though I was looking forward to sitting at the tree reading the latest version of FEAR STREET. Before I got into class someone pulled me back out, to my surprise it was Nate.

If you wanna know why Nate pulled Nia out of class the catch the next book of dancing in the rain ♡
