As she got home that evening Cass felt drained. Helping Takemitchy wasn't what tired her it was the text her mother sent her. Something about needing to talk. But there was no need to stress. So she headed to the kitchen getting herself a glass of water.
"Hey peaches you got a letter! It's on the table," Taiju yelled from the living room. She hummed. She looked at the letter. She had never seen this. She shrugged picking it up and tearing it open. And as she began to read her face drained of color. Unconsciously she dropped the glass.
"Peaches?" Taiju frowned getting up from where he was. He walked into the kitchen seeing her pick up the glass. He frowned even more.
"Hey are you alright?" He asked kneeling in front of her. Her bangs covered half of her face so he couldn't see her.
"I'm fine, I just spaced out," she said putting the glass in the trash beside her. She sighed standing up. He cocked his head.
"Peach look at me," he said standing up. He grabbed her arm.
"I'm fine Taiju really, I'm just, tired," she muttered. He bent over looking at her. She looked away.
"Peaches," he cupped her face making her look at him. Her purple eyes were filled with sadness and a hint of fear.
"Obviously you're not okay," he said with scoff. She shook her head out of his grip.
"What's wrong?" He asked taking her hand. She tightened her softly.
"My step dad got released today," his eyes widened. A series of old memories filled his mind. He remembered this man vividly and none of the encounters were good. He wrapped his arms around her.
"It's alright, he won't hurt you," she could only burry her head in his chest. She could only hope not to run into him.
On the other hand Tsuna had just received the news."That bitch!" Kitsune dodged another boulder. She had had to take her and Takemitchy to an open space so he could learn to use his new abilities.
"What's happening!?" Takemitchy asked hiding behind her. Kitsune sighed.
"Her step dad's out of jail," she said. He frowned. He didn't understand much about the Hatsune family but shouldn't she be happy? Or was he missing out on something.
"Piece of shit!" She yelled smashing her fist into a tree.
"Sh-Shouldn't we stop her?" Takemitchy asked watching her repeatedly hit the tree. Kitsune shook her head.
"No that would just make matters worse," in the end Takemitchy got no training but still had to go see Ryuki for his herbs. Tsuna tagged along since she needed painkillers for her hands.
"Hey uh, Tsunami-san," she hummed not looking at him.
"What's wrong with your dad?" She glanced at him.
"Nothing I love my dad," she said. He frowned.
"But today you were kind of pissed about him-"
"You mean my step-dad," she corrected. He nodded slowly. She sighed stretching her arms.
"Not much I can say I just really hate him, he's an asshole, a narcissist and a really abusive person," Takemitchy raised a brow. That did sound bad.
"Really? Well he can't really do anything to you guys though right?" Tsunami shrugged.
"I don't know, he's unpredictable and I'm not trying to find out if he plans on showing up," she said. Takemitchy hummed.
"Well if he does Jiten and I have your back, what's more I don't think Hakkai would let anything happen to you," she smiled.
