Chapter 1.

Error. Honestly, from the start, Error was well... an error. Something that shouldn't've happened- shouldn't've even existed- to begin with.
His body was unstable, due to the fact he was 'born' without a world to solidify his being, and accordingly, he was unable to form a solid existence within the multiverse- nonetheless anywhere.

And so, every way possible, his existence was true to his name.

Error was unwanted, an accident, and entirely a mishap shat from the universe's code. Take this, and in that case, why wouldn't this also be true for his other, unwarranted counterparts?

"Acgk! H-hey- THAT. IS. MINE! G-get off!/" The tiny skeleton growled, attempting to pull their bag away from an intruding monster, who was attempting to steal their food. "Ngh!"

Error pulled a harsh kick on the opposing child, as they gained the upper hand quickly, immediately snatching away their sack from the other and securing it protectively to their chest with their thin arms.
The bear cub got up, but didn't bother to press further, as they only scowled and ran off. "Yeah, that's ri-ght! Go a-away y-you glutton, you already ate!" Jeered the ash gray monster, as if he really could say anything.

Just then, a pearly white boned skeleton emerged from their hiding spot from behind the bushes. They crossed their arms disapprovingly, however, they didn't really seem to mean it. "E-Error. That wasn't very nice." The small voice spoke. It was a monster who had faint speckles on their bones that resemble stars: beautiful appearance completely contrasting to the rags they were wearing. The other scoffed. "Y-yeah yeah O-outer. And a-aren't y-you mister obvious." Error mocked, blatantly.

"I'm just stating facts.. Bearon(Baron) might come back later, and tell on you." Outer mumbled. "I don't want you to get in trouble."

For a reason so innocent and naive, even Error had to pause for a minute, before sighing. "Yeah... it doesn't really make a difference though, does it?" They frowned bleakly, "Just take your half of the bread, I've already accepted I'll be here forever." Outer frowned. "Don't say that...you'll get a nice home, Error."

"..."

After that, there was only silence, as the two children sat together on the yellow, dead grass: side by side. It wasn't a lie that both their lives had been dark and dreary, and they spent their nights in the worn cots of the orphanage for so many years with thin blankets, even on the winter days.

Though both had very different stories, with time it was sort of a natural occurrence that the two had come to an understanding at some point. Both sharing their own type of pessimism for their current situations and futures.

"Mmh, ohmn." Error tore their way through their stale bread as if it were a fine, gourmet steak, which for them it was probably at least that.

"You know." They chomped, as they ate their food. "I kind of wish we could stay like this forever. Get a nice home, with good families (if possible)... Stay together, in a way we won't get killed for sodomy of course." Outer nodded in agreement. "Yeah, that could've been pretty sweet..-"

"Could've?" Error frowned, narrowing their eyes. "Is something-?" "NO! No- I just meant that possibility sounds nice." Outer sweat, dusting off their hands now from crumbs as they finished eating. "I'll go first, make sure to pretend to sleep and avoid the caretaker." They advised whole-heartedly, before speed walking away to avoid further questioning. "Hm..."
