Roy was having a relatively normal day. It was October 15th, around a month after his birthday, the cool autumn air brisked his face as he chatted with the rest of the hatz gang. Suddenly, Roy’s mouth started hurting a little, he didn’t mind though, the pain was the type he was used to feeling, that was until it started increasing. Roy started to feel dizzy, unsteady, and thirsty? “Uegh…” Roy mumbled, “guys I feel really weird…” “oh, ok dude, go home if you need to!” Ross replied, looking worried. Roy nodded, trusting his friend. Roy shuddered and stumbled, everything felt as if it was spinning and he felt as if he was about to fall over. “Roy…? ROY!?” Robert yelled as Roy fainted, falling onto the hard concrete below and almost smashing his head on the curb. close call. Robert and Ross joined forces to pick Roy up and bring him back home, frantic and scared for their leader.

A few hours later…

Roy woke up on Robert’s guest bedroom bed, slowly processing what happened and where he was. He grumbled, what the hell just happened? Never mind that, he felt as if needed something sweet, which is not normal for him because he hates candy, so he got up to look for Robert. He knew that Robert had a soda stash somewhere… where was it again? Robert proceeded to hug Roy tightly when he saw him, relieved to see his friend ok. “Oh thank god, I thought you were going to have to go to the hospital! Don’t scare me like that dude!” Robert said, almost at the point of tears. “Sorry to scare you like that… anyway where do you keep your sodas? I want something sugary for some reason.” Roy said, Robert responded with a sigh and letting go of the hug, proceeded to take Roy to the soda stash. Roy grabbed one of the cans and opened it, he then proceeded to chug the soda like there’s no tomorrow. Once Roy was finished drinking the soda, he felt oddly re-energized from the drink, once again, this is not a normal thing for Roy because he typically has a sugar crash immediately after chugging any sugary drink like that.

Roy sighed. “I better get home, my mom might get worried if I stay here any longer,” Roy said, gesturing to the late hour. “Oh sh- yeah dude go home, I know how your mom gets when you get home late-” Robert responded. Roy waved goodbye after reaching the front door, he then proceeded to leave and get home safely. Little did he know, things were about to get even weirder from here on out.

It was a day later from the fainting incident, Roy had just gotten up from bed and was brushing his teeth when he noticed that his teeth were… pointier than before? He decided to just ignore it. He also felt that weird need for sugar again Luckily, he packed a soda in his lunch today, and his favorite cereal was also sugary, so that helped. He walked to school, none the wiser of the few signs that he had for the future… after school Roy hanged out with the hatz gang again, then he felt wobbly again. Roy quickly grabbed the extra soda from his bag and chugged it, feeling a whole lot better after finishing the drink. “Phew, almost fainted again…” Roy said in relief.

“Dude… go home and rest. I don’t think you should be out much later after what happened yesterday.” ross stated with a tone of worry in his voice, Robert nodded in agreement. “... fiiiinnnneeee, but only because you guys told me to,” Roy said in a grumpy yet appreciative voice. Roy walked home like he always does, then two little (and familiar) voices perk up and yell “IT’S A SPOOKY MONTH!” in a happy and excited tone. ‘Not these two…’ Roy thought with dread. The spooky boys noticed how tired Roy looked and got concerned. “Are you ok mister?” pump questioned, Roy responded with a “mind your own business” as he continued walking home, ignoring the spooky boys. Roy reached home, he sighed and entered, still feeling tired as ever.

Roy decided to relax in his backyard, even though it was pretty late his mom wasn’t home yet, so he had some time to kill stargazing. Roy sighed and reflected a bit, why were his teeth sharper than usual? Why did he need sugar in every meal or else he’d faint? Then it hit him: those are common traits in vampires… but vampires aren’t real… or are they? Even if they are real, why would he be able to walk out in sunlight? Or eat garlic bread? Roy, now curious, went back inside and searched up ‘vampires’ on his computer. He found multiple articles about vampires and what they are. One of them mentioned that vampires don’t necessarily need human blood to survive and that they only need a little sugar in their meals to thrive. Oddly specific but that’s evidence… another article mentioned that vampires are a separate species from humans entirely and that it is possible for someone to be half-human half-vampire. Of course, the only way to test that is with magic...
