A/n This chapter is very short. I wanted it to be a standalone on Jules thoughts and feelings.

Jules had spent a significant amount of time decoding the information she had gathered and managed to make out a few names from the pinpointed locations.

But in the hours Matt was gone, her reality really seemed to settle on her shoulders. Loss. A gaping hole of it somehow consuming everything around her. She felt herself slipping. So much of her future rested on her getting to Jameson and Fisk. She could clear her name and resume her work. She wouldn't have to hide and crawl around in the dust. She could just be. Something she yearned so hard for. Jules thought that maybe she'd almost reached that point, of being in a comfortable place. Then he came back. It was one lucid dream, and she woke up in a sweat chained to her bed by her fears. Keeping her bound to the constrictions of four walls.

In an instant she knew she had to keep her promise to Linette. Even though she was flooded with emotions and overwhelm, the words from that moment didn't fade. Laying next to her friends body uttering the words: "I'm gonna get the motherfucker that did this to you guys. I'm gonna find him. And then...I'm gonna kill him."

Since then, she had pondered over this statement. It kept her up at night. Could she, do it? Never in her career had she killed before. She believed at some point she would have to though; it was only a matter of time. But in that moment. The memory of her friends empty eyes, the organization she had given her life to in pieces. She knew.

It wasn't really an epiphany. The realization was probably buried somewhere. But in the past few days it had burrowed to the surface. Exposed and unable to ignore. Jules knew. She would make Jameson feel fear. More scared than she was when he imprisoned her in that basement. She would make him feel the pain that he had caused her and so many others. Jules would show him that he was also human, that he could succumb to defeat. She would be his judge and damn him guilty. She would watch the life seep from his eyes. She would be in control. She will kill him. Then when it's done she will emerge into the light. Her hands and soul bloody, but still free. Free.
