Jason eyed the red locker. All the others were blue. This one seemed out of place.
He walked over to it, and opened it.
A head.
Once again Jason woke up panting. "Goddamnit," he muttered to himself, "I need to stop dreaming these creepy dreams." He had been dreaming weird, scary things lately.
Jason combed his black hair, brushed his teeth and grabbed his backpack, flying down the stairs to get to the bus stop. Shoving a piece of bread in his mouth, he called to his mom, "Leaving!!!" Though it sounded like "Mmmf-pfffhh."
When he got to school Jason joined with his friends. They chatted for a while, and Jason caught sight of a lone girl. Her hair was dirty blonde, her head was down staring at a book she was reading. As though she knew that he looked at her at that moment, she looked up at him, and he was shocked at her eye color.
Orange? He thought. Am I dreaming? Damn those false awakenings.
He shook his head, and looked at her again. Her head was down again, back at the book. He saw a hand wave in front of his face.
"Hey, hey Jason!" He heard Tyler's voice calling to him. "You got eyes for that girl there?" Jason blushed, but looked to where Tyler was pointing.
There was no one there.
