On a clear and brilliant morning towards the middle of July, Alexander and Serafina were crowned king and queen of England. They stood at the altar in the Windsor chapel, holding hands as they listened to the minister speak. They were wearing identical outfits of gold and white, the colors that they believed would be most fitting for that momentous occasion. The crowns had been placed onto a gold pillow that was resting on the altar in between them, waiting to be placed on their heads.
The minister cleared his throat before addressing the two of them. "Do the two of you solemnly swear to protect the people of the English Commonwealth with your lives? To make sure that they prosper as well as you do? To make sure that they do not go hungry?"
Alexander and Serafina nodded simultaneously. "Yes."
Minister. "Do the two of you promise to give back to the poor and not leave them neglected? Do you swear to keep every man woman and child safe?"
Alexander and Serafina confirmed that as well. "We do."
The minister gives them a nod. With sure and steady hands, he reaches for the crowns, raising them high before placing them onto their heads. He turned his attention to the crowd. "Citizens of England, I present it to you, for the first time, your new king and queen!"
As the crowd burst into applause, Alexander and Serafina felt power explode through them, felt a warm glow begin to cascade around them. Moments later, they became enveloped in a dazzling gold and white light that sparkles brilliantly around them. They didn't release one another's hands, their eyes fixed with each other. When the glow finally faded, their outfits had changed.
Alexander was wearing a three-piece silk suit of dark gold, trimmed with dusty blue along the shoulders and sleeve cuffs. His boots were gold as well, and the gemstones on his crown went from clear diamonds and rubies to vibrant yellow diamonds and rich deep red garnet gemstones. His crown remained gold.
Serafina was now wearing an elegant champagne gown with cap sleeves cream silk gloves and a dazzling dusty blue silk train. Her hair was piled high in a French twist, and the gemstones on her white gold crown had been turned from blue and pink diamonds to vibrant blue and pink sapphires. Her slippers had become matching champagne with dusty blue silk ribbons wrapped around her ankles.
Alexander smiled at her brilliantly, leaning forward and kissing her. "You look absolutely stunning my love."
Serafina smiled back, returning his kiss. "As to you my darling. I cannot believe the crown is ours."
Alexander. "I can't believe it either, but it's ours now."
Serafina. "Yes it is."
As the crowd continued applauding, Alexander and Serafina exchanged another sweet kiss before leading the procession into the Windsor Chapel ballroom for a lovely reception. Everything was complete. They were married, were bound by blood, and had become crowned. Their lives as king and queen of England had just begun. And it wouldn't be long before they would start a family. However, they would wait until the time was right to bring a baby into the world.
Unfortunately, Little did Alexander and Serafina realize that someone was going to come between them, someone who was going to try and tear them apart. Someone was going to try and sabotage the love and bond that they had for one another.
