WaspPaw

I was just walking out of the nursery to go bully SkyPaw and rub in her face how much better I was than her even though she was apprenticed before me, until.....

...

I heard our leader shout from WetRock, "All cats old enough to swim in the rapids, please gather for a clan meeting!" I waved my heavy tail and trotted a bit behind SkyPaw, shoving her head to the ground so I couldn't smell her.

She said, "Hey! What was that f-" and then she turned and saw me staring down at her, grinning as she, a training apprentice, was easily bested by a untrained kit! She resumed, "Tch... just pay attention to the meeting..." as she turned back around, her tail hugged tightly to her side and her ears pinned back.

I laughed outloud, and one of the kits, who thought I cracked a joke, started laughing along with me, afraid to be picked on for not laughing. Then all the kits joined in, SkyPaw tomato red in anger.

I heard the RiverClan leader speak again, "WaspKit, step forward". I was caught off guard and just shot toward them. I waved my heavy tail as if I was paying attention. Then I realized, today was my apprentice ceremony! I heard them speak again, "WaspKit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as WaspPaw. Your mentor will be MoleMask." I heard cats chant my name! I felt so special!

That'd when it dawned on me, SkyPaw was always a bit of a runt, and nobody ever cheered for her, not even at her apprentice ceremony. I felt guilt build in my stomach, but if I apologized it would make it seem like I was to weak to fight against her, and she would switch roles with me.

I walked back to my position behind SkyPaw, flicking her head. She scowled, and turned her head away from me. I let out a laugh, which was secretly completely fake. Our mentors decided it would be best to meet up tomorrow so we could train together, but it just twisted my stomach.
