ShaneI've been laying in my bed for the past few hours, pretending to be asleep, wondering how something so good went wrong in the first place. Was it because of me? Was it because of the distance we had? He's from London so I understand the difficulty we are facing whenever we talk, but I kept questioning myself, why did he broke up with me? Does really lack of time to talk the reason?
So I did what I do best, I cried. Not the cute one, I did the ugly crying, where snots fall off my nose and my eyes turn red and swollen. I've done that for that a couple of hours, just sucking all of the pain, hoping that tomorrow everything will be fine.
But that was only wishful thinking, because the second I got up, my head was throbbing and my eyes were puffy, that looking on my phone for too long stings.
My freshmen year at college starts tomorrow and I haven't prepared all the things I need, my sister will surely kill me at this point. So I rushed to the bathroom to do what was needed, and made sure my eyes doesn't look like it was bitten by an unknown species of insect.
Once done, I made my way down stairs to eat breakfast along my niece and nephew. Everything was going good until Jake, my nephew spoke, "Uncle, why were you crying last night?"
My sister stopped what she's doing, she looked at me concern and worry swirling through her brown eyes, telling me this conversation will be continued later.
I gulped and made an excuse so Jake wouldn't worry, "Uhh, I was reading a novel on this site and it was very sad, don't worry I'm fine." I ruffled his hair and smiled so he won't bug me about it.
I continued eating my breakfast, while texting my best friend, Joaquin *or Wacky as I call him* about meeting at the mall with the gang to buy all the things we needed before school starts.
I bid farewell to my sister, wore my helmet and rode my bike to the mall to meet with my friends, we agreed to wait for each other at the food court.
"What happened to you?"
Was the first thing I heard from Jazz when I arrived, I haven't notice I've arrived at our meeting place with a frown on my face.
I felt my heart break more as I recalled what happened the night before and told them what happened, I received looks of sympathy until Annie spoke, "It's okay, never seek validation from men, the only one who can provide the love you need is you and yourself only" I needed to hear that, but I will be damned if I told her I'm still in love with the guy so I just nodded my head.
"Cheer up!" Wacky said as he put his arm around my shoulders, "Ice cream's on me" he added with a smile on his face, Allie cheered and pulled Wacky to Dairy Queen.
After buying all the things we needed, we head to the uni on our bikes to get our schedules and avoid confusions tomorrow.
I rode my bike back home, seeing a large man, probably a jock along the way with his arm wrapped around his boyfriend.
By the time I got home, my sister is already preparing dinner and my brother-in-law was doing remaining office work. Once sat around the dinner table, my sister asked me the same thing Jake asked me this morning, and I answered her with the same excuse I gave my nephew, she left it at that.
I washed the plates then proceeded to shower, I lie down on my bed and looked straight at the ceiling, that's when I realized that my tears started to fall, and I cried myself to sleep, knowing this will be a cycle for a while.
*this is how i imagine shane would look like*
