Ara's POV
I can already feel Jay's fear fill the room like smoke; it made the atmosphere so awkward and the tension made it hard for me to breathe properly. I already feel so bad for snapping at him, even when he has basically ruined my life.
"J.. Jay..?" I spoke up eventually, breaking this dreaded silence between us.
"Ara, please do understand that everything i have done to you since the beginning was for a reason. You may think it's a crap reason, but hear me out.. Please." Jay gulped, squeezing his eyes shut momentarily.
"I will.. Just stop leaving me in suspense. I know it must be tough to finally admit all of this to me, but the silence is really starting to get to me." I nervously laughed.
"I'm sorry.." he chuckled quietly, his hand slipping to the back of his neck to rub it. Poor boy, he must feel so awkward and embarrassed..
"Take your time.." I whispered, giving him a genuine smile.

Jay's POV
"Take your time." she whispered beside me, and I could feel myself get goosebumps from how soft her tone became. And her smile.. so intoxicating, much so that it made me smile back at her.
"So.. the reason I've been a shitty person was because.. as crap as this excuse will sound, but it was because of previous relationships."
I lowkey prepared myself for her judgement in this matter, already mentally preparing for the ridicule that I was about to endure, but that never came; instead, she just nodded slightly - indicating me to carry on.
