"Why him?"

You stayed quiet and shook your head when he left, quietly fixing your outfit and continuing to get ready. 'jesus..' you thought as you shook your head and left the bathroom to go look for Doobie.

Doobie was minding his business, quietly talking with his friends and sipping at a drink. You smiled softly and waved at him as he looked blankly at you before looking away, going back to his friends. It made you frown that he didn't smile back, but you sighed and walked to his room, quietly putting your stuff up and heading out to the small party that was forming, keeping your distance from Doobie who seemed to keep his distance even with the agreement that he would party with you. Soon people arrived faster and you quietly sat down, talking with some of Ethan's friends and sipping at your own drink. 

Pretty soon Ethan was sitting next to you, smiling softly as he pulled you close, "hey." he smiled as you look at him and stayed quiet, "hi.." you mumble before looking at your drink and quietly sipping. "so you wanna get out of here?" he asked as he looked at his covered up marks, "I'm bored." he huffed softly as you pulled away from him slightly, "no...you can call that girl..I'm sure you'll enjoy her company better." you smiled softly at him before getting up and going to find Doobie. The blond was quietly smoking with a group of his close friends, looking up as you smile and walked toward him, "hey Doobie." you smiled as he nodded quietly before passing the blunt, "what's up." he asked as he looked at you dryly. 

You weren't gonna lie, him being this cold to you actually hurt, the way he seemed to look right THROUGH you and not AT you...You shrugged softly and smiled a bit, "I was wondering if you could take me home...i have no one to hang out with.." you laughed softly and he stayed still, "you have E." he stated as you looked at him and he seemed to be staring into your soul, "....Doobie, That wasn't what it looked like..." you reach out to touch him before he jerked away and scoffed, "i thought you were done with him.." he laughed as he looked away and went back to his own thing. You stop and went to grab his wrist, pulling him away from his friends, away from the party, and away from Ethan's glare. 

You pull him to his room as you sighed and shoved him, "whats wrong with you" you scoffed as you started grabbing your things and he sat on the bed, "nothing...Ethan is still claiming what is his..i cant do anything." he yawned and rubbed his eyes as he laid back and looked at his phone quietly. "Doobie. you had the chance to...." you mumbled as he sighed, "it doesn't work like that.." he scoffed and got up, quietly looking at you and walking out, "I'll get you a uber." he mumbled and headed back to the party. 

It hurt, sure you guys weren't together, but he made you feel important...like you mattered. You finished packing your things, with plenty of tears and hiccups messing up the image you had made for yourself. You grabbed your bags and quietly walked through the house, heading past all the drinkers and stoners as you walked out and sat on the porch waiting for the Uber before hearing a familiar voice, "You wanna go somewhere with me?" he asked as you looked back at Ethan, sighing softly as you nodded, "yea.." you mumbled as you looked away. 

It was dark, the moon was beautiful, you stared at it, wishing it was something you could touch. "come on..lets go." he said softly as he grabbed your things and headed to his car, putting your things in as you yourself got in, "you wanna go home?" he asked as you quickly shook your head, "my dad is gonna put me in jail.." you huff as he sighed and nodded, starting the car and pulling out of the crowded group of cars, "alright, well I'm hungry, lets go get some food." he hummed as he started playing music and lit his blunt, handing it to you after a few puffs and you take it, humming softly as he take some drags, quietly trying to dull your headache as you listened to the music, "why Ethan...?" you asked as you looked at him and he seemed to know what you were asking, "Why him..?" he asked back as you sighed and shook your head, "...i don't know.." you laughed quietly as you rubbed your eyes, "he's kind.." you mumbled before Ethan looked at you, "am i not..?" he asked softly as you shrugged, "you cheated on me Ethan..i don't think that makes you kind.." he smiled softly as he gently patted your thigh, "well that was a shitty thing to do..but i didn't think we were THAT serious." he smiled before you tensed and pushed his hand off, handing him the blunt, "so i tell you i love you and you think I'm playing.." you sighed and he thought quietly for a moment, "I just thought you was hoeing around.." he sighed and shook his head, "I thought you liked Doobie." 

After a moment you nodded, "I like Doobie...he's a gentleman and knows when to ask if I'm okay.." you smiled softly as Ethan sucked in a breath, "do you..like like him?" he asked quietly as he shook your head, "no..i love him, but not like that...He's like a brother..i don't think he knows that..but I trust him.." you nodded as he looked at you, "..so if I had walked into that bathroom a few minutes later...would ya'll have been fucking?..." This quieted you, "....no..we wouldn't have...i was mad at you..i was letting him do what he wanted..i love him..but I love him like my family.." he nodded softly as he sighed, "so...its never gonna be him?.." he softly mumbled as you shook your head, "I don't think so.." 

He stayed quiet from then on, before looking at you and kissing your cheek, "I'm sorry..i didn't think I would meet someone like you.." he chuckled and shook his head, "I'm sorry I'm an ass." he hummed as you stole the blunt, "well yes you are..but whatever..you'll hurt me over and over again and I know you'll still figure out a way to pull me back in.."
