The fog was getting increasingly annoying, clouding the visions of other gems who weren't by the shore of the beach. It gloomed the beautiful blue skies of the land, that is if there was any beauty left on this forsaken island.

Due to phos recent outbreak, the gems have been cautious and some even turning against each other. The slightest misconduct from that phos gem was going to be the deadliest move of all.

Sapphire gazed out at the horizon, sitting on the cold sand and hugging their knees up to their chest. This was the first time they were actually unsure.

Have things gotten too far?

Kunzite, who had evolved from an acquaintance to a beloved friend was lashing out more than usual.

Friend.

Was she even considered a friend at this point? Sapphire's constant use of the once familiar gem was considered beyond the normalized friendship that they saw among other partnered gems.

Was this some type of sicken romance then? Sapphire knows that Kunzite has some type of attraction towards them but it was becoming increasingly obsessive.

Guilt lingers in the back of their head, they gritted their teeth. Stuff like this shouldn't concern them, it never did so why now? All because of that gem. Because of Kunzite.

The atmosphere changed when they felt something cold wrap around their neck.

Sapphire looked down at the defected arms that was wrapped around them, the harden gold was a dull color.

On colder weathers, the gold would normally be hotter and brighter so the chilling presence caught sapphire off guard.

Kunzite rested her cheek against the back of Sapphires head, her voice distorted as she hummed quietly.

"You're cold." Remarked the smaller gem

Kunzite's grip just tighten at the comment, it was obvious something was off about her. It's like she clung onto them for some type of warmth.

Sapphire let out a heavy sigh and looked back out at the horizon.

"Sapphire"

Sapphire didn't look back at her, but Kunzite knows they're listening.

"I love you"
