like @umejiikiizu explained in their ship book , these two were probably old friends who eventually just stoped hanging out once umeji had his makeover . but shin was too scared to talk with umeji thinking umeji forgot about him or was mad at him for not standing up for him , and umeji for whatever reason . umeji threatens musume once seeing shin get bullied and the two get their relationship again and eventually become lovers
