"You cannot escape yourself, Stardro, you can run no longer," the scratchy voice came from the darkness, reaching for him. Shadowy tentacles wrapped around his ankles. His voice caught in his throat as he tried to shake their grip. "Don't run."
The elf jolted awake, sweat beading on his forehead. In the bed next to him, Yisutu flopped around, letting out a disgruntled groan. Why was he still wearing his mask? This guy really was a weirdo. And why was he sleeping like that? Legs spread over his head, arms outstretched like a mentally disabled starfish. He smiled at the sight and turned over in bed, shutting his tired eyes. This is gonna be one hell of an adventure.
"TAKING A PICTURE RAMALAMAMAMA!" Music blasted from Yisutu's alarm, making Stardro jump awake once more. Yisustu lay fast asleep despite the blaring alarm. He shut off his alarm and shook his sleeping travelling partner.
"Yisuuuutttuuuuu!!" The man rolled off the bed, landing on his feet like an agile cat and straightened out the folds in his robe. He put his arms in the air, as if reaching for the stars themselves.
"LETSSS GOOOOO!" he cheered, snatching up his bag and making his way toward the door.
"Wh-what? It's 4am." His guide nodded, motioning toward the door. And so they left, off into the early morning night. It was chilly, the wind blew straight through his plaid work shirt. Hollow's Eve was fastly approaching. Especially in the Eastern regions as Hallow's Eve was a beloved holiday. Perhaps they'd get to experience the festivities tonight. They had to rest somewhere. He wasn't sure where their travels would lead but he was sure they were going to have some interesting adventures.
"Where are we heading?" Stardro asked meekly. Yisutu sighed, adjusting his mask.
"Bruh." he said blankly, but annoyed.
"Whaat?"
"Didn't you read the brochure?" What brochure? He'd just tell him to follow along and they went on their merry way. Suddenly Yisutu slapped a poorly made pamphlet on his chest. "Here ya go, bud."
"Oh uh, thank you." he smiled awkwardly. He flipped open the brochure to see scribbly hardly legible writing, clearly made with crayon. Definitely modern art-esque. The first page illustrated a Hallow Eve's themed page, decorated with pumpkins, skulls, and black cats. The second was an overhanging darkness, with a towering skeleton man smack dab in the middle. In an odd way the skeleton was hot. How could an actual skeleton be attractive? Maybe it was the flowing velvet cloak or its handsome bone structure, perhaps those long boney legs? Hot as hell, drop dead good looking. He shook the sinful, naughty thoughts away and looked up to see his companion starting at him.
"Whatcha thinkin' about?" he asked in a singsong voice. Caught off guard, a pink blush spread across Stardro's face.
"Let's keep moving." He blurted and quickened his stride.
"Hey! That's my job!" Yisutu cried, catching up to his elven customer.
