"Catch!" shouted my mum as she threw me the keys to my newly inherited car. It was a beautiful glossy yellow convertible with a leather interior. I LOVE it. You see before I would never get the chance to drive something amazing as this but my life has changed drastically over the last four months.
It all started back in March when we heard that my nan passed away. She was my dad's mum and dad was her only son. So when he died my nan had no one else to pass all of this down to so instead she left everything to my mum, my older brother Carlson who is 17 and I. We never knew much about my nan but she must've been quite wealthy as she left us three cars; one of which is now mine. We also inherited her exquisite house with an accompanying lake and all of her money. My mum decided that Carlson and I needed better education, and now that we've inherited nan's money, she's sending us both to a private school, which we are going today and gifted me this glamorous car as my transport. Carlson and I both know at least one person who's going to our new school but I wouldn't exactly call us best friends...
"So honey, me and Amber have arranged today for Mason to show you around your new school and you're going to love it!" Speaking of the devil... My mum just HAD to bring him up.
"B-b-but mum you know I don't exactly like Mason! He's a troublemaker and he always teases me!" I protested.
"Nonsense! Mason's a lovely boy who wouldn't even hurt a fly! I'd like you two to get along for mine and Amber's sake!"
Amber is my mum's best friend and they've been friends since they were in diapers! Unfortunately, she wants that tradition to carry for me to adore Mason like everyone else does. But I know what he's really like, he's a bad boy and nothing can or will change that. You see, me and Mason have been brought up together, we are very similar but We are two worlds apart. For example: Our birthdays are two days from eachother, we both share the same middle name but spelt differently (all My Mum's idea) And Oh to top it off we both hate each other.
Over the years Mine and Masons personalities have clashed, I am very easily tricked whereas mason is a master con artist. This ended up with me being stuck on a roof for eight hours (long story)
So as you can see its not always easy when masons around, I try to avoid him as much as i can but its hard. I suppose its a bit like playing dodgeball with knifes...
"Fine." I groaned irritably knowing that nothing I said would change her mind.
"Thank you, now go get ready! I don't want my baby being late for the first day of school!" She cooed.
"Mum I'm not a baby anymore! I'm sixteen!"
"Yeah, yeah whatever. Now go get ready!"
I looked at the clock and decided she was right so I sighed and lazily pressed the button on the lift and hopped in. I went up to the third floor, which is where my room was and took a quick shower. I stepped out and dryed myself off, grabbed a robe and walked into my closet.
I took out a pair of stonewashed super skinny jeans and a black off-the-shoulder sweater with little rhinestones dotted around. Then I slipped on my nude patent pumps and a couple of chunky bracelets.
walking over to my vanity case I decided to curl my long, thick, auburn hair. I added some light makeup and some eye shadow to bring out my bright blue eyes.
I grabbed my purse and took the lift back downstairs and saw Carlson waiting on the sofa with a depressed look on his face.
Carlson is my older brother, by a year. He has bright blue eyes; like me and mousy brown hair. Whenever something happens to me or if i ever get in trouble he is ALWAYS the first one there to help me out. We were bought up like that.
