Give Me a Break

No one ever really understands... Who could? I'm the weird girl. Why are mean people on this earth? All this runs through my mind but I'm snapped out of it as my crush runs by.

"Come on Kalie!! Let's run and enjoy the last few days of summer." Todd reaches for my hand but I quickly jump up and pull away.

"Race ya!!" I reply. He instantly takes that challenge and bolts off. We weren't alone, I just didn't know where the others were. It was so quiet with only the wind blowing and birds chirping. I knew soon someone would sneak up on me and expect me to scream in terror. Just as I predicted, at least a minute later my best friend, Catalina, lunges out from behind a tree. I jump a bit but play it off like it was no big deal.

"Did I scare ya?? Did I?? Did I?? Did I??"

"Not really," I replied flipping my long brown hair over my shoulder and strolling past. She stood there with no expression. She looked like a clueless zombie. Of course I, the geek, would know what that looks like. I couldn't ever stop watching zombie shows and my favorite movie is by far "Warm Bodies". R is so caring and ugh just they are just the ideal couple... anyway, I just continued walking and heard the sound of her Uggs dragging against the cold concrete. The sound of running comes closer as Miah, one of my other best friends, charges past.

"I heard someone say race, I'm in!!" She kept running, eventually catching up to Todd and then beating him to the stairs leading up to the slide. She squealed in excitement, rubbing the fact that she had beaten us in our faces.

"Give me a break!" Catalina shouted. As I looked at both of them, I saw their eyes roll as they let out a little giggle. We can never stay mad at each other. It was like we physically couldn't. We needed each other, our friendship is the most important thing to us and nothing could change that.

So, what do you think so far, I mean I'm not that talented but I feel confident about it!!
