An Old Friend

The sun had just started to rise in Kujou Encampment. It was spring, so flowers had started to bloom again all over Inazuma. Some of the Watatsumi island men had been stationed at the camp just for a week while Sara and her army had to deal with something more important. Of course, there to supervise the men was none other than Watatsumi Island's General, Gorou. He had been doing good while on the job, making sure to check in on everybody regularly. He was very caring of them, especially in a place that wasn't their home.

Some time had passed, and it was at the point of the day where everyone started to head off to where they had to be. Some stayed at the camp to train, while others just had to survey the island, as usual.

Gorou, like the curious dog he was, strayed away from a mission of his to gaze at the pretty land. Most of the year, it looked kinda plain. While bright, the island was just green. And nothing more. Gorou had assigned himself to defeat some treasure hoarders just west of the Army's base camp. He figured since it would only be a few minutes, (both the mission and the sight-seeing) he could wander off just for a bit since he never really got to see the island like this.

He hums as he walks along an overgrown path, taking the long route to where he was supposed to go. Though it was irresponsible, he figured nobody would see him.

"Going somewhere?" a distant voice says in a playful tone.

Gorou's ears perk up and he looks beside him. "Oh.. it's just you." He says with a sigh of relief.

Just behind some bushes sat an old friend of the general, Kaedehara Kazuha.

He smiles and hops off the stone he was resting on. He picks a pretty blue flower and walks over to Gorou. Unbeknownst to the dog, he was wagging his tail and his face had turned red. Kazuha leans down and sticks the flower in Gorou's hair. "Such a pretty puppy. As always." Kazuha chuckles and pets Gorou's ears. "Kazuha.." Gorou's tail continues to wag. "You didn't tell me you were going to be here today.." he looked away. "Did I have to? I wanted to surprise you, dear." the wanderer smiles and places a few fingers underneath Gorou's chin, lifting it up. "Now, back to my first question. Where are you going?" Kazuha questions in a more stern tone. Even then, he still sounded sweet.

"Oh,, er.. I was heading off to a short mission I had assigned myself. Was taking a quick detour, though.." Gorou adds, a bit embarrassed since he got caught. "Mm.. you know that once you are assigned something, you should get there as soon as you can. Unless.." He pauses and trails a hand up your waist. "..The General has his own special privileges?" Kazuha grins and Gorou lets out a small whimper because he knew Kazuha knew he didn't have any. Not ones that applied to this situation, at least.

"Ah.. got you there, didn't I?" Kazuha chuckles and ducks down a little, his lips hovering just over Gorou's.

"Bad pup." Gorou then tucked his tail between his legs.

"Now, run along. How would Kokomi feel if one of her most prized among her men was drooling over a previously wanted criminal instead of doing his job?" He smirks, wiping Gorou's chin with his thumb.

Gorou does not utter another word, instead he just nods and Kazuha takes his hands off him. Kazuha puts his hands in his pockets and walks back down to where he was sitting previously. By the time he got there, Gorou had disappeared.

Kazuha sat down on the rock once again.

And waited for the boy to return.
