"I'm sorry!" I said as I bumped into a stranger and dropped my books and almost empty coffee over my jacket.
"Oh no Im sorry I should of been looking at where I was going." He said, his heavy accent gave away where he was from.
"You're from England, aren't you?" I questioned as I picked up my dropped books.
"Oh um yes." He said raising an eyebrow. His eyes were a beautiful carmel brown. He helped me pick up my books and take off my jacket. It had black spots on it from the coffee. I wasn't happy about spilling it and my morning was ruined but he was so sweet and apologetic for me to care anymore.
"Uh I guess I'll be going now...." I said as I took a step back.
"Wait." He said reaching a hand out to stop me.
"What?"
"May I have your....." His voice trailed off as he looked down at the pavement. His eyes slowly rose and met with mine. "May I have your number?" He quietly asked.
"Oh uh yeah." I waited for him to get out his phone.
"Ok what is it?"
"368-5214" I said, not realizing I had just given out my number to a compleat stranger. I hadn't even gotten his name yet. He put my number in his phone. We just stood there, neither of us wanting to leave.
"What's your name?" I finally questioned after a few moments of silence.
"Liam. Liam Payne. What's yours?"
"Tisha Newton"
"That's a beautiful name." His compliment I hadn't heard that in a while. To be honest I hated the name. I didn't understand why my parents had named me that.
"Oh God is that the real time?!" I suddenly, taking his arm in my had to get a better read. 10:53 I was late for work. He looked at me with a questions expression.
"Yes that's the real time" he said pulling his arm back to his side.
"I'm sorry. I have to go, I'm late for work."
"Oh no! I didn't mean to make you late for work. How bout I make it up to you over dinner tonight?" He said. His smooth way of asking me out impressed me.
"Hmmmm.. I'll think about." I said with a wink. I bid him goodbye again and hurriedly walked towards the bakery where I worked. When I got to the bakery I saw a familiar face waiting at the door. I froze in my tracks and put a hand in my hip.
"Jared, I've told you before, I'm not going out with you."
" I know.. But I thought that today you'd may change your mind considering its my nineteenth birthday." He said with a sneaky smile.
"Well happy birthday. But I don't care. I'm staying firm with my answer. NO!" I bitterly said. I didn't care at this point. He'd asked me every Friday since the time I'd bumped into him. I guess I have a thing for bumping into guys and spilling my coffee and dropping things. I'd done it three times now.
"Please reconsider. I really like you! I mean your cute, you have a GREAT butt, and beautiful eyes." He info sized great. That drive me nuts.
"Thank you. But no." I said as I brushed past him and walked into the bakery. He grabbed my hand before i could walk all that way through the door. I stopped.
"Please" he pleaded.
"I'm seeing someone else." The words flowing so quickly out of my mouth before I could stop myself.
"Oh? Who?" He said raising his eyebrows.
"A person."
"Who?"
"Fine. His names...." My voice trailed off. Was I really about to tell Jared that I was seeing Liam? I guess so.
"His names Liam." I said with a shaky voice.
"I don't believe you." Jared said crossing his arms. "Call him" Oh no. Jared could not of just asked me to call Liam.
"He's at work" I quickly lied to avoid calling him.
"Oh yeah? Where's he work? I'll go pay him a visit and ask him for myslef." Oh no. He can' t talk to Liam. Manly because Liam's not my boyfriend yet and that would be weird.
"Oh umm. He hasn't told me where he works yet. You know what, i'll call him and ask him right now."
"Yeah you do that." He harshly replied and walked away. I hurriedly walked into the bakery and checked in. I walked to the back and realized I didn't have his number. He had mine. There was no way of contacting him. I put my hands to my head to think about what I could say to get out of this situation. I came up with nothing. There was nothing I could say to get out of it. Just then my phone buzzed. It was an unnamed number. I opened it hoping it was Liam. IT WAS! I was relived. I opened the text.
'Hey. It's Liam. I hope I didn't get you into to much trouble at work. Please tell me if I did so I can fix it.'
I smiled at the text. He was so sweet. I snapped out if my daze and dialed the number quickly. He answered.
'Hello?' He said.
'Hey it's Tisha'
'Oh hey. I didn't get you into to much trouble at work did I?'
'No you didn't get me into trouble at work at all.' I calmly said to him. 'But about seeing you over dinner tonight....." my voice trailed off.
"Yes?" he said with hope in his voice.
'I'd love to.' I boldly said.
'Really? That's great. Well i'll text you about where I'll meet you.'
"Oh um where do you work?." I awkwardly asked.
"I don't work. I sing." He said. Oddly my heart swelled at the thought. He's a singer.
'Ok well I'll talk to you later. Bye Jade'
"Wait." I had to tell him what I told Jared.
"'What's wrong?"
"I told this guy that we're dating... He's been asking me out for last month every Friday and today is his birthday so he was trying to get me to hang out with him... I said I couldn't because I was seeing someone. When he asked who I told him it was you. I shouldn't have stuck you in-between our problems. I'm sorry." The words are rushed but needed.
"Oh... Well that's okay." He says.
"I know that's really weird of me to do."
