So it all starts in the new year, january, charlie spring, our main character, walks into his form class where his teacher, mr. lange, makes him sit next to, nick nelson, the other main character and love interest, they first just say hi to each other which happens quite alot!
One day nick's pen explodes and charlie has to walk him to the bathroom to try and clean it off, it doesnt come off and charlie makes a joke that nick is gonna be blue forever. they start becoming closer, talk in the hallways, eat at lunch together. this is when we meet, tao xu, charlies closest friend.
timeskip to febuary, theyre running laps and no one has yet to beat charlies time, nick glimpses over to them running, he thinks charlie is pretty fast he even wants him on the rugby team. later that day charlie runs into, ben hope, who he used to help with his "math homework" totally not sexually assault him by kissing him because he's the only damn gay guy at Truham, ben used to bully charlie last year. That's when nick walks by and saves charlie from ben being a poopy daiper baby. Nick ask charlie to join the rugby team.
one week later in the locker room everyone and i mean everyone is questioning why nick wants charlie spring on the team, the first thing charlie and nick say is "hey". that practice nick helps charlie understand everything about rugby. from how to throw the ball all the way to tackling. before that the coach ask charlie a lot of questions. about a week later everyone has grown to enjoy charlies company. after that charlie has to meet up with ben, "ben tries to beat him up" totally not kiss him and stuff and thats when baddie nick steps in and tells him to and i quote "he told you to stop you fucking prick" and nick walk out the school with charlie like best friends
nick invites charlie over to meet his dog, nellie. on saturday charlie cuts his hair that kinda of shocked his sister, victoria spring, when charlie gets to nicks house it ends up surprising nick aswell. thats when nick has his first little bi panic because he like that hair cut but he found him cute before that. charlie loves nellie as soon as he sees her, best dog ever. they play a bit of mario cart, and nick says "you're just good at everything, you nerd!" thats when they notice it is snowing, they put a sweater on nellie and go outside and play in the snow.
the next saturday nick goes to charlies house, and charlie helps him learn how to play the drums, when nick has his next little bi panic.later that day nick steals charlies home work because hes bored, YET ANOTHER BI PANIC OUT OF THAT. charlies lttle brother, oliver spring, meets nick. nick and charlie go upstairs and watch a movie, jesus another bi panic? yes, yes another. then nick goes home. nick goes home and searches up "am i gay" he ends up playing a am i gay test, which means you most likely are if you have to take the test, and "how to tell if you're gay" and then "i like girls but now i like a boy????" bro, nickolas nelson, its obvious.
in april charlie tells tao about how nick and him are more clingy, they hung out all of spring break, and now nick hugs him. tao tells charlie " look... charlie... i didnt want to say anything but... i've asked around and i've heard nick's had a crush on a girl called Tara Jones (shes a lesbian btw dating a girl named darcy) from higgs school for, like, 3 years or something " which makes charlie sad. but nick likes charlie, nick runs up to charlie and hugs him because they won the game. everyone starts speculating they like each other.
a day later, nick ask charlie if hes going to harry greene's (EWWW) party on saturday, charlie gets convinced to go so he can hang out with nick. at the party him and nick go to to drink area and talk for a bit then harry snatches nick so he can go see Tara, Tara tells nick about darcy, her girlfriend, she can tell charlie and nick like eachother, nick ask where charlie went and omg baddie nick goes off on harry. nick and harry meet back up and race to a quieter room, bestie charlie wins, charlie says harry should be on that ' my super sweet 16!' OMG NOT EVEN 4 PAGES LATER THEY KISS!! FINALLY.
