We arrive home and Aiden is the first one to get out of the car.

They both wait for me to open the front door.

"Hurry up!!" Aiden holds his bladder. Lmao he's gonna piss on the floor.

"Shut up" I say with a straight face and El hits me lightly on the arm.

We get inside and Aiden goes running to the toilet.

"Uhm I'm just going to call my mum to let her know I'm arriving a little bit later than usual."

I nod and go into the kitchen to get some water.

This friday we're finally going to have hockey practice.

I hear shuffling in the living room and go check.

El is playing with Bear. She's sitting on the couch and Bear is on her lap, she's making him dance by holding his paws and slowly swaying him around.

I take a picture. She looks cute.

Aiden comes running down and throws himself at the couch.

She laughs and turns around meeting my eyes.

"Ellie, what do you wanna play first?"

"I'm not sure bud, you choose."

He ends up getting monopoly from the closet and she sits on the floor with Bear on her lap sleeping.

"Wanna play Kit Kat?" She asks.

I join them on the floor.

"Hey! That's cheating! No fair!" El looks at me.

I laugh "No it's not, it's literally on the rules of the fucking game." I shrug.

"If Ellie says it's cheating, it's cheating!" Aiden crosses his arms.

She makes a told you face.

I sigh and give in. A phone ringtone interrupts the game.

"Sorry" She mumbles and picks up.

"What's wrong?" As shes says that I look at her and she has a panicked look in her face. What the fuck happened.

My jaw tenses.

"Get out of there, now. I'm coming okay? I promise it won't take long. Go hide somewhere and get out as soon as I call again okay?" She gets up putting Bear on the floor gently.

I give her a nod in confirmation and get up telling Aiden to come. I can't just leave him alone.

"What's wrong?" She starts to breath frantically.

"Look at me, it's fine, you're okay, you're safe."

"Is Ellie okay?" Aiden asks.

"Yeah bud get into the car."

Her breathing starts to slow down and get back to normal.

"I'm sorry." She covers her face with her hands.

I bring her close to me and give a tight hug. That was fucking scary.

"What's wrong?"

"It's my sister, she's in trouble. I know it's too much to ask but-"

"Get in the car and take my phone. My password is 7704. Put the address on the GPS app."

She looks up at me with thankful eyes and goes into the car.
