"Nico?" I whisper as I wait at the edge of the woods. "It's me, Y/N." You pull your black hoodie tighter around your vibrant camp half-blood shirt. Suddenly there is a group of laughter behind you and you wipe your head around to see a bunch of Dionysus kids on a midnight round of pranks. You slip into the shadows of the trees, avoiding their light source. You flip the hood up over your hair, and walk behind a tree until they disappear. Once it is all silent, you let out a low whistle that sounds like wind coming through an itty bitty crack at the top of a car window as you drive down the freeway.
You wait for a responce, but you hear a low growl. You quickly clamber up the tree, but look back down to find a big dog. You can't recall her name, but you recognize her as Nico's dog. Suddenly there is an outline of a boy standing next to the dog. He let's out a similar whistle, then whispers your name. Moonlight passes over him and you see the familiar stature, hair, and eyes.
"Nico!" You shout whisper from the tree, "I'm up in the tree!" He looks up at you with a smile on his face. He quickly scales the tree and sits next to you, his hair all over the place.
"Hey Y/N," he says, taking your cold hand in his. You smile at him as you two start talking about random things.
"I wish we didn't have to sneak around," you sigh, looking at the ground as you kick your feet.
"I know, but Apollo kids don't exactly like me," he says, rubbing soothing circles on your hand with his thumb.
"This seems so Romeo and Juliet like. Our families disaprove of us,"you say, resting your head on his shoulder.
"Kinda, but I won't let you kill yourself for me. Never in a million years," NIco says, kissing you on the head. You smile up at him, feeling happy and content.
"I love you Nico," you say, kissing him on the cheek.
"I love you too."
