On the morning of October 15, Serafina was smiling down at her healthy 8 lbs. 5 oz. baby boy. After 12 agonizing hours in labor, she had finally delivered her son. The Windsor succession, as well as the monarchy, was secure. She brushed her lips across her baby boy's cheek, and then his dark brown peach fuzz. She couldn't believe how much he looked like Alexander.

The midwife smiled at her. "Your majesty, should I go and inform the king?"

Serafina smiled back. "Yes please, I believe our son needs to meet his father."

The midwife nodded and turned to leave the room. She was back a few minutes later, Alexander beaming right behind her. He moved quickly towards the bed, his eyes focused on Serafina and their son. He dropped to his knees beside her, kissing her tenderly before looking into the eyes of their baby.

Serafina smiled at him. "Isn't he beautiful my love?"

Alexander. "He's absolutely perfect darling. Now the only question is what to name him."

Serafina. "I believe I have the perfect name in mind."

Alexander raised one eyebrow. "Oh do you? And what is that perfect name?"

Serafina's eyes sparkled. "Charles Alexander."

Alexander's eyes overflowed with tears. "I believe that is the perfect name for him."

Serafina gave her husband a sweet kiss before handing Charles over to him. She watched as Alexander held their son for the first time, watched as his tears started cascading down his cheeks. She started crying as well, overwhelmed with happiness. She had a husband, and was safely delivered of the next king of England. She was filled with joy and peace, knowing that no one was going to come between them again.

After several minutes, Alexander gave Charles back to Serafina so she could feed him. He watched his wife nurse their son, marveling at the beautiful image before him. He couldn't believe how fortunate he was to have a wife and child in his life, filling his heart with love. He wiped his eyes, happiness flowing through every crevice of his body.

The two of them continued watching Charles nurse, not able to believe the life they had created together. They had no idea what was in store for their son, or for their future children. But whatever the adventure was, they knew it was going to be filled with nothing but laughter and happiness.

Once Charles was finished nursing, Serafina gave him to Alexander so he could be put into his cradle by the bed. She snuggled beneath the blankets, the exhaustion from the evening and mornings events slamming hard into her body. She smiled at him. "How many children do you want my love? I don't believe we ever spoke about it."

Alexander carefully put Charles into his cradle before turning to look at his wife. He smiled softly. "As many as he would like my darling. Although, if I must be honest, I would love to have a little girl sometime. That way I can have a little version of you running around this castle."

Serafina giggled. "I would love that. However, for the moment, why don't we just focus on raising Charles? We can have more children when the time is right."

Alexander chuckled, climbing into bed with her and bringing her against him. "I believe that's a wonderful idea."

Exchanging a sweet kiss, they fell asleep in one another's arms, knowing that their son would be needing them very soon. Peace and happiness was palpable between them, and they knew that they were now a family. It didn't matter how many children they had after Charles, they would love them all unconditionally.
