The battle ended with neither a winner nor a loser side, both sides losing a lot. They have managed to stop the invasion of Earth by aliens.

After an explosion in the sky and everyone was blinded by the light from it, they collect what was left of them. It was not easy to do that when things had changed, wars between aliens, mutants, and humans had changed humanity's view of mutants, peace had been broken and they had to start all over again.

"Jean, she's gone..." Scott mumbled.

Pietro watched his friend drop his knees to the ground in despair as if his world had ended when he lost Jean, the woman he loved the most.

"She's free," said Charles, he could still feel the living being in Jean's mind, however, once again he felt he had lost the one he loved.

"Jean saved us...all of us," Wanda mumbled, still wrap her arm on Pietro's shoulder.

Pietro could only give a small nod and without realizing it, tears had fallen from his eyes, now that he had lost another friend. Looking back up at the sky, he saw something flying in the dark sky, it was much brighter and more beautiful than any star.

He wiped his cheeks which were wet with tears, but then found his vision blurry and then he fell.

He was just tired.

"Pietro, W-What happened?" Wanda knelt beside him.

"I'm just tired, that's all..." Pietro said with a weak grin.

Just as he started to feel the world begin to swing from side to side, suddenly a pierce of pain returned, and he barely had any strength in his arms.

"Pietro..."

Pietro blinked his eyes, his father gathered him into his arms, placing him in safety.

"Which one hurts, Pietro?"

"My chest..." Pietro whispered.

"You'll be fine, just breathe okay..."

"I'm trying..."

"This is what happens when you're being stubborn! You brainless child!"

"This isn't the first time you've called me that," he said.

Erik shook his head.

"Now I know why this morning I found a gray in my hair,"

"You did?"

"I did because my son is a danger magnet, yes you are..."

"I don't ask for it, I promise it just finds me," Pietro said.

"Papa..." Wanda pulled her hand from Pietro's jacket, trembling as a nearby flare showed her palm turning red.

Erik's eyes widened at that, then he looked at his own palm, there was blood staining it, immediately knew it was from his son.
