I woke up Monday morning to a text from Yoongi.

YOONGI: Good morning, my Petal. Is it my turn to have alone time with you?

Y/N: Tomorrow, same time and same place.

I knew he'd know what I meant.

YOONGI: You remembered. I'll see you then. 💜

Tuesday came and true to her word, Malia found a way to occupy Hoseok for the day. She asked him to help translate something in Korean for her aunt. It worked.

I got dressed in my white spaghetti-strap sundress, wore my hair partially up, and spritzed on some lavender body mist. I arrived shortly before 11:00 am at the location where the Little Chapel used to be. It was May 27, our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, the chapel had been demolished decades earlier due to wood rot. There was only a large stone with a plaque memorializing the special place. I stood and read the inscription.

The Little Chapel

"A home filled with love for everyone."

"Hey, Petal, you look beautiful!" Yoongi's voice came from behind me. "You remembered what today is." He was dressed in khaki pants and a button-down dress shirt with the long sleeves rolled up. He looked breathtakingly handsome.

"Yes, it's our wedding anniversary," I replied with a small smile.

"We never got to celebrate it back then, so let's celebrate it now." I gave him a concerned look. "Yes, I know about the accident and how I passed away about a month before our first anniversary," he continued, pointing to a blanket set up under a tree with a picnic basket and a bouquet of lavender.

My heart skipped a beat. He grabbed my hand and intertwined his fingers with mine. I seized up a little expecting a flashback to be triggered by his touch, but not this time. All I felt was his warmth and extreme love. He guided me over to the blanket.

"Wow, thank you for doing all this. It's very lovely," I said, completely touched.

"I picked up lunch and a bottle of Moscato, your favorite," he said while pouring two glasses. "If it's okay with you, I'd like to make a toast." I nodded yes. He grabbed my hand, held up his glass and looked lovingly into my eyes. "To the woman who stole my heart in two different lifetimes, you are my everything. Forever." We gently tapped our glasses and drank.

Yoongi put his glass down and came to sit beside me. "I need to share something with you. After we spoke, while watching the sunrise on Haleakala, I had another flash from the past. It was about our first wedding anniversary. I remembered that I was planning a surprise weekend getaway to celebrate. I had rented a small private cottage on the North Shore. It was a perfect location for us to stay and watch the sunrise on the beach. My heart hurts knowing that I never got to take you there," he said regretfully while looking down.
